  1. In customer service... If you don't guess your miss or ma'am correctly- you'll get bitched at. I've had it happen a few times.
  2. +50 Seriously! If you don't like the movie... fool around. I don't go to later movie time slots and never on the weekend. That's just asking for it. And, that's a shame.
  3. I'm truly against robbing the rich to pay for the poor. If I make it to the top some day, I don't want someone else taking it from me. (It's a good hope.) But, it is a generally debated item even now. It's a current hot button. In MN Its happening in Australia How 'bout they pay for our troops? I was trying to find the yahoo news article I just read last week, about this very issue. What's going to lead us to revolution: when the poor start starving, when too many go homeless, and when it seems like noone really gives a damn about those that go without. Revolutions are messy and hurt hard in the short term, but tend to help in the long term, if the right changes get made.
  4. You almost has phone back... Soon... Very soon...

  5. How is that a bad thing? Your kids are pesky and will be back in less than 24 hours. They're so clung to your hip it's not even funny. How many times do they call when you're over? For serious? They're just forking with boundaries. You'll be doing the no kids dance in no time. Heh, this time though... Leave 'em there for 2 weeks. That'll teach 'em.
  6. I'm looking for something that would be able to generally supply a small house with power with a battery backup. I don't use too much energy per month, so I imagine it wouldn't need to be large industrial sized. I don't have to be entirely off the grid, but knocking the electric bill in half wouldn't hurt.
  7. Considering I'm making I think roughly 28k... If I were at 50k in a dual income household it would be entirely doable and I'd get good vacations. But, I'm so used to living on the bottom it's easier to make the adjustment to more money. Hell, I grocery shop directly from the farmers and I negotiate prices when I buy in bulk and do home canning. I recycle my jars, so I don't have to continuously pay a high cost for the mason jars and I buy used jars from sites like Craigslist. For 2010 I'll be gardening, so I should be able to keep my food costs even lower and those plants will be bought with a negotiated system in bulk because I've already invited a flock of people to group buy with me. So, I'm game to barter... Anyone know how to build a wind generator for my house? I'll feed ya and pay supply costs. The hard part is that there are so many just scraping by. With 33.9% of the population making under $35k. What is that third of the population going to pay for all these fun government fees with? Taxes? We're so far in the red, at some point we're doomed to collapse.
  8. The median is just the overall average; you see when we add our percentages... Gaf.... According to that same article you linked to 48.1% of households made fewer than 50k. That's the whole household. At some point, we're just going to have to take half the income of the rich to even support the president sneezing. (overstated on purpose) 33.9% made under 35k and I gotta say 35k and I might be in the black on a more regular basis, but if my utilities get any higher in the winter I don't know what I'm going to do beyond turning my house into a commune, so I have enough people living in the house to cover the additional expense of just living. America is pretty darn impoverished in relation to cost of daily living. I'm not sure how much you make, but I'm just under 30k and it's hard. I'm ahead of the curve for my age in relation to those I've met, but that's because I sacrifice in other areas and I've learned how to cut costs in all my shopping.
  9. Tummy in ouch level 3, back in ouch level 1.5.... Mild but annoying, doh.
  10. I don't think it's just that. Honestly, different things drive different people, but autonomy is best mixed with free time at work. I do all kinds of projects when I'm bored at work, but my co-workers don't. They need a reason to think out of the box.
  11. I know from personal experience... The gods have a sick sense of humor. That's why I've always felt so drawn to the Greek pantheon. It seems about how my life goes.

  12. Why is you having bad night stalker?

  13. What did I do? (j/k) No really, what's up?
  14. Quoting because we keep getting closer to this... And I really am starting to think he's right.
  15. Stupid friggin trailer trash is ruining her daughter's birthday being lazy and making a scene in my lobby.
  16. Yeah, but isn't that just a constant state rather than an emotion. Or, perhaps, just for me... Ugh, must remedy that, but shopaholics don't save well. I know I'd be less poor if I could save even just $25 a week.
  17. It's because if you spend every waking hour with someone it can get lackluster too soon. A well rounded person is also more likely to be a mentally healthy individual. I've found that the ones with too much free time tend to be more mentally/physically abusive or just never want to do things. (There are clearly exceptions to every rule, but in my experience this is the case) Life is more exciting when you have to work at it. (crap)
  18. I'm going with. See the guy for a year without telling your daughter. Around a year after the divorce, start slowly introducing him into her life with simple activities like dinner or mini-golf. Don't even mention that you're dating. About 3-4 months after introducing him, mention that you've been on a few dates and ask what your daughter thinks of him. By that point she should like him in general. My dad used something like this to introduce my step-mom to us when we were kids and it worked. My mom was upfront about dating from the first date and we generally tried to kill the poor bastard that she'd bring around. They were under the impression she had wild gorillas living with her that really enjoyed throwing things. We'd try to mindfuck the poor guys too.
  19. And they want the housing market to actually rebound? Are they sure? It doesn't seem like they would to me.
  20. Apparently, the kids are speaking German now then... That's how most of those blasted abbreviations look anyway. It honestly looked like my dyslexic sister wrote that. I could understand it, but it looked aweful.
  21. I've tried the new version... I don't like them. I pretty much quit smoking, but I get a pack of the new ones if I go out. Now, I just go out less.
