  1. Thanks to all who came out to our 90s special edition nite, where we managed to get through an entire decade without *gasp* playing any grunge! Lots of requests, but but five hours was not nearly enough time to get 'em all in, let alone represent all genres. But... we'll be sure to do 90s night again in the future! Props to Stever for compiling all the video clips and thanks again to all the Necto staff who've been 100% awesome since our move to the Red Room. They really are the best venue we've ever worked with! So many great soundtrack songs that we didn't have time to play - we could do another night of this theme with an entirely different setlist (but don't expect this soon as it took Josh many many long hours to compile and edit this night's affair)! 16. I used to work for Mike Himes and was the first buyer for the Ferndale store. I must say, he managed to last a lot longer than he thought he would. He was seriously worried about losing both stores as early as 2002. - Josh
  17. Live At PJs management have hastily changed our Nov 13 agreement and booked it out to others for reasons totally bizarre to us. We're sorry to announce that we've reached our limits and can't continue to work w/ such a fickle, confused group of people anymore. As a result, we're canceling all PP events and we'll be on hiatus until a suitable venue is found that has competent, people-friendly management. If such a venue is never found, relish in the fact that we had one hell of a good run and our little parties grew beyond what anyone initially expected. We'll miss you all, thanks for everything. In the meantime, Josh hopes to guest-DJ elsewhere in the coming months, playing both retro and "now-tro" stuff. He will also happily DJ your private party, wedding, or bar-mitzvah for real, real cheap (think booze). Getting the rest of the crew to come do their fabulous decorating for you may be another matter (think stretch limos). Watch this space and you can always yammer ideas at us at Plasticpassion_a2@yahoo.com
  18. We're looking to collaborate with a talented video editor who has projection equipment to do live or pre-edited video mixing at upcoming Plastic Passion events. If you are that someone or know someone, send us a pm here or contact us at plasticpassion_a2@yahoo.com!
  19. Yes, I'm afraid you do sound like a sexist. I saw quite a few bonehead male shit-talkers with 300 APFT scores cry like fucking sissies under fire and duress. And I saw plenty of females (some who could barely pass an APFT) calmly and professionally patch holes in guys while rockets were impacting all around them or take charge of a squad in the middle of a mission while their male counterparts were freaking the fuck out. Some of my unit's best gunners were chicks. Physical strength is pretty damn important when you're taking fire, but mental/emotional strength is a lot more. To you and Candyman: I don't know you guys. I don't mean to hassle or try to "pwn" you and I can appreciate the situation you're in now, but it sounds like you need to work on your mental strength, soldiers. The arguments you keep trying to make are pretty shabby and it sounds like you're very, very angry at a lot of things. I understand the feeling. We all came home with a lot of anger, too. Don't let it envelope you and don't let the Army dominate your identity of self. You were a civilian before you joined the army and eventually you'll become a civilian again when you leave. Really, all this differentiating between civilians and non-civilians is bullshit. One wears a uniform and the other doesn't. One has to deploy and the other doesn't. In today's modern/urban battlefield, and with over 60% of our deployed troops coming from the Guard and Reserves, those are about the only differences these days. It's still humans vs. humans. Take care and control. - Josh
  20. Curious to hear others' thoughts who went to this. We found it boring and overall disappointing this time around. We ended up leaving early at about midnight.
  21. Funny thing about Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell is that the Army (and pretty much all AF branches for that matter) is probably the GAYEST organization I've ever been a part of! Never before had I witnessed so much man-on-man ass-slappin', flirty-jokin', genital exposin', homoerotic gesturin', peeing-on-dudes in the shower then during an annual training or my two deployments. I mean I could dip my balls into a dude's mouth while he was sleeping, take pictures, and instantly become the hit of the platoon; but if I dare admit that I liked The Smiths...well, that might arouse suspicion. - Josh
  22. THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME OUT TO OUR 3RD ALL-REQUEST-NIGHT, MAKING IT ONE OF THE BEST ATTENDED PLASTIC PASSIONS TO DATE!
