When resentment goes too far

If she dumped you? Naw, I wouldn't. If you dumped her and it was on friendly terms and you turned around and hooked up with her bff, that would not be as legit. -
Deadcat outgoths all without even trying. He just...is. We marvel in it.

City Club Playlist: Sat 10.16.2010

Rofl @ the last two awesome selections . Very solid list . I enjoyed. -
Yes, whoever said it was the same stuff over and over again (or same sounding stuff) really doesn't like the genre period. I'm 25, have been listening to everything in the gothic/industrial genre that I can since I was 16. That's almost a decade and I'm not anywhere close to having heard all of it. Just sounded like an ignorant statement from that person, if you don't love the music than this is not the thread for you (or scene, imo, there's tons of bars for other genres not gothic/industrial, whereas we have ohh like one or two.) The last thing I want is for someone to muck it up with something OTHER than what it's intended to be, or with piles of mainstream shit (why I didn't go to The Ritz on Thursdays) with you know a song here song there kind of exception! Also, many youngins can't HEAR any of the classics or obsolete songs or experience it because so much is difficult to find. Before Pandora and Last.fm it was all MP3, and honestly I felt dirty downloading them anyway when I was a kid because they weren't legal. So it was CDs (and for young people this is hard because you don't know WHAT to buy and usually have less money) and what random songs and singles you could find off Limewire. With Pandora and Last.fm the dirty stealing-factor is removed and there is a bit wider of a selection, but it is still not fully encompassing of the scene. They won't play everything, there's set tracks from each album from an artist that tend to queue up. But DJs are to their own discretion and can pick any song off of any album they have, exposing all of us to MOAR. That's why this idea is so ingenious, because I know what I'm getting when I get there (with expected and welcome surprises and variations, of course). I REALLY don't see how anyone could argue it.

I was just giving him a hard time . Also vaguely hinting that I do need to get out to the club more...

Not sure about the extent of it, but I do know that in all the German classes I took (which had mostly professors actually auf Deutschland), they spoke of the fact that there was a big influx of Turkish and Muslim folks to the point where many Germans were getting fed up with it. Something that we as Americans can relate to that does not happen to be a huge issue here in Detroit due to our location, but many citizens along the Mexican border have been fed up for years with the inpour of immigration and the whole "DEY TUK ERR JEORBS" sentiment (rofl to those who watch South Park, for those who don't it roughly translates into "They took our jobs").

Everytime someone says "feed the trolls" I automatically get a mental image of them all in a fenced in area at a petting zoo and for the low price of one quarter, you can get a handful of abrasive phrases and nonsence that they will eat out of the palm of your hand. You have to remember to lay your hand flat, however, because if you don't they might bite a finger.

Gorillaz is one of my favorite non-industrial bands and after like eight years of wanting it I finally had the money to pick up Demon Days. For some reason I was thinking that El Manana was on their new one Plastic Beach, but I was pleasantly surprised because it's my favorite song of theirs (tied with Tomorrow Comes Today). I've noticed I prefer their slower more ambient songs to their upbeat and poppy songs (like 19-2000). I think it's Damon Albarn's voice, super saucy.

My post from earlier REALLY needs to be Grammar Nazied . Really shouldn't try to be coherent before 9am...

Dude, trying to get you more fans here, sheesh!

Loved the mix between normal shit and R.I.P. Also REALLY like smoking in the basement, feels like skeletons will fall out of the ceiling on my face at any moment. Saw so many people. Raev was able to swindle money out of me for beer, because, you know it's not like he hasn't bought me probably well over three cases in the past few years. With Siren came Raev and with Raev and Siren came the most intoxicated person at CC: Stormknight. With that said I probably owe Enishi quite a bit of beer . Was super excited that runner up of MANFAST went against all odds and showed up (Black Jack). Both kats were there, didn't get to talk to katRN that much. Introduced myself to Scyko Kitty (sp?) when I spotted her dancing with Iris. First saw Iris dancing in the ballroom and gave her skirt a tug. Realized that DJ Saint is the guy from Suicide Commando, so that's pretty cool and all. Also threatened Nocker, with I believe various things, but I do believe I said that I would force him to sit through FLCL and said I was going to make him watch movies he loves at our house on our badass TVs. I really know how to be intimidating, lemme tell you. And Eevee was super excited to see me at CC, but not as excited as I was to see me at CC. Got spotted out right away because you know, when you're going incognito and all, don't have your tall hottie boyfriend follow you around because then your cover is blown. I will say for the first time EVER, and I've gone to CC in full on dude suits, I was mistaken by the male bouncer as a man. He was going to pat me down, and I mean I was gonna let him why not it's free gropes, yes? He reached down and figured out I might be female and passed me along to be felt up by Sybil...super lame. I will say the whole ordeal of being mistaken as a boy gave me wood...which IMMEDIATELY went away the moment Sybil laid hands on me, and reverted back into a vagina. I had to shower two times just to get rid of the notion of dirty... Oh wait, Tyger was in there too. I don't know how I could have forgotten that because she helped me find Eevee, or told me that Eevee was on the hunt for me. Sandy was also there and very tall and dressed more sharply than I ever can dream to, per usual. Just baaarely ran into Osaka, but did say hi. Riku was also full of sass, as always .

Then don't go to gothic/industrial clubs...? Just tryin' to help here... There are clubs for nearly every genre in Detroit, or bars even, pick one! If hearing gothic/industrial types of music is old to you, don't go to CC.

Because there are some people like myself who doesn't listen to other "dark" genres very heavily such as metal or horrorcore. Throwing those in would further aid in confusion, imo. Going to a night with all of them blended in? Bad idea. I can see little off shoots here and there, an odd song that doesn't fit any subgenres of goth/industrial, but an even mix of everything would be disastrous. Case in point, let's say you really love EBM...but hate metal. You go to a night to just flood yourself in EBM, but 50% of what they play ends up being metal. Or you could divide it down further if you blend in even more stuff, such as loving EBM and hating metal, horrorcore, and deathrock (hypothetically speaking). You wanted to go hear EBM because that is what you love to hear, and end up listening to about 25% EBM blended with 25% metal, 25% horrorcore, and 25% deathrock, causing you to leave the place one pissed off clubber. The more genres and broad categories blended into the mix means in all probability you will hear what you're there to hear even less. I think it's ingenious to set up in clubs so that one room specializes in one or two types of closely related subgenres, and another room plays mainly another two groups. That makes it so that if you dislike a song or genre outright, you can get up and dance your drunk ass over to the other room where, perhaps, they may be playing what you love to hear. Hence why RIP and the late Deadline (*sad face* ) were superb in layout. Deadline DID have a pool table though, which definitely enhanced the experience...and really good chicken tenders........I miss Deadline *sob*.

There should be no such thing as cash assistance. Sounds harsh, but that's how it should be imo. The only one that I can see being an exception to the rule is Social Security (and don't even get me started on the fact that almost everyone I know who had filed for disability or tried were perfectly capable of holding down a job, but that's another thread entirely). If you can't afford rent/utilities then the government should pay that directly to the landlord or companies, not to put cash in people's hands :. Like I said, anyone on assistance shouldn't complain about regulation...it's free money that you're taking from others. Just earlier where I stated the bit about the homeless person, I believe I should know whether they're sincere or going to spend it on booze/drugs, so if they indicate that they are going to spend my generous donation on booze/drugs, I'm not handing it to them. Since you cannot track cash assistance once it has left the treasury and is in the person's hand, there's no telling what they will spend it on, so they shouldn't be handed it. Their bills should directly be paid. But people WOULD bitch because now-a-days people have this nuts notion that they either deserve shit or need things they don't. If you're able to live, breath, etc, and remain healthy, that is a need. Anything after that is just gravy. It's nice that the government helps people, and I think people should help other people, but the attitudes of the people who are being helped are often times disgusting. Government also helps in harmful ways sometimes, such as letting people buy junk food, giving them money so they can turn around and blow it on stupid shit. I believe in helping through education, maybe funding direct rent/bills, government buying people bus passes to get to and from work, a work-clothes program, etc. We have such crazy entitlement issues in this society, it's messed up... :. -

I dunno, assuming that nobody else is poor or in the situation is kinda blanketing imo. My mother received no child support at all (because she refused it) and raised me on less than $10,000 a year. Poor is all in money management, not in the actual amount you make. I had a SNES (super high technology ), went up north in the summer, went to Cedar Point every year. I knew I was poor, all the other kids knew I was technically poor, but it didn't necessarily feel like it because my Boshy was super awesome with finances and going without. Personally I think rewarding kids with anything tangible (toys and food) regularly is harmful to them. There's Christmas and birthdays for that stuff! If parents aren't too bent on the idea of just rewarding your child with praise, why not reward them with a fun day somewhere? This becomes a bonding experience between parent and child, gives the child an opportunity to either bring a friend or play with other kids there (such as Major Magic's...but I think I just dated myself), it also teaches them to cherish good times instead of something like junk food. I've seen it so many times, erm lemme rephrase that...I've never not seen it (double negative, but whatev) where a child is rewarded with either mostly toys, food, or a combo of both where the child grows up to be not-spoiled or without weight problems. I'm sure it does happen maybe, but out of the hundreds of children I've been exposed to in my lifetime, it's never happened. -
Oh come ON. I A) Walked out coherently B) Walked out on my own two boots, and C) Clearly remember the whole night PLUS walking out. That there is the unholy trinity telling you that clearly, I was not drunk .

See, I thought about crossing off awful songs, but instead of negative reinforcement, what I did was I went and put "Hellz yeah" or things to that effect to other songs people requested that I liked. Or if someone put down a shitty song from an okay band I put "Why not __________ instead". I wanna know how the hell I got SO DAMN OLD that I've thrown up twice today over ONE long island and two cups of beer. SRSLY? At least I'm a cheap drunk now, guess I can't complain there.
