Indeed, and understanding, that to an extent pleasurable behaviors must be restricted, but that the individual must train themselves to do this, not be confined by the hard rule of someone else not even involved. There should be no outside source regulating you, moderation must come from within.

Suggesting that taking away cupcakes from kids in school to fight obesity, is like suggesting that The War on Drugs isn't a ridiculous violation of our American rights, a waste of tax dollars, and that it's actually "working". (It isn't...and this won't either ) Restricting people from actions/activities/items they enjoy almost ALWAYS makes it worse. Training people how to live in harmony with these things, and form some self-control, is what is key.

I'd be down for trying to run one, but I think at this point it's a little late in the year to start that sort of thing. There are many people on here who are talented with building sets, doing makeup, acting (my dept. ), coordination/management, etc, the possibilities are endless. But for right now, we'll just have to do a tour through on the Haunted House. Next year or the year after? Maybe we can try to arrange something.

Our neighborhood just has rats, not mice, and those are some CUTE LITTLE FUGGERS OMFG. I love watching them run across the street at night. Sadly...I never see them anymore since Gitzie started going outside...I wonder why that is . Oh well, neighbors love my cat now, so she's happy. The photo...is that a rat or mouse? I'm confused, it looks like a rat.

I understand why CC is necessary and a great tool for promotion and pulling in new members, but I do agree that I'd like to also see some focus on promoting to these new members other ideas, like "CC is cool and all, but you should check out __________ night too." The scene needs some variety, I don't like the idea of us being centric around any one club.

The ebb and flow, ups and downs, of DGN is such a steady phenomenon, it could seriously be an academic subject. It's like the stock market. Some DO disappear for "forever". I do wonder where these people go to, or where their lives are taking them, and why they never came back. But I was used to this easy come, easy go, notion of people from hanging out in Royal Oak back in high school...trust me, there was a way higher turnover rate.

Even in the first post, to reinforce my point, we should never consider ourselves "gothic tolerant"! We're supposed to be "mainstream tolerant". This is the haven where we can come and not have to worry about being "tolerated" but embraced...uhm darkly. Preppy people should have to be shown tolerance here, not the other way around.
