OMG they're charging THREE HUNDRED A CAMP SITE, Brosnan, my people, for $12 we got you covered for the weekend 🤣 It's our gift to the community, we don't like to money grab like that, it's just about coming our and having a good time. Not that I wouldn't be open to some huge festival at some point which, yes, would need a higher ticket price, but MANFAST has always and most likely will always be $12 a person.

Yes, we've been doing Goth Camping (i.e. MANFAST for the old goths here) for 13 years, unfortunately we had to cancel our normal event this year in June. We are debating on doing it at the end of August, not sure how many takers there would be. Scary Guy is correct, and it's not invite only it's technically open to anyone, in the past you HAD to be on DGN or go with someone on DGN to go so it did used to be invite-only. We generally hold it in White Lake Twp, we are trying to get land for next year, but if we fit one in at the end of August it would most likely be in Oakland County this year.

The Gathering 300 - January 22nd
Destroit replied to Troy Spiral's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
It's not just you, it's devolved into something completely different than when I joined, it's beginning to feel very culty and more about leadership worship than the actual goth scene 😕 Can't bite my tongue on that any further, when someone demands to be called "Father" and there's leadership ranks of servitude...yiiiiiikes. The whole thing is also uncomfortably based around sex and fetish now, whereas it used to be all about the goth scene. That's why I came back for a second but went back to being silent. -
Do some more cleaning and organizing around here, since I'm stuck at home today with people working on my house anyway.

Something Cold is legit, I even went way back when JC was doing it at Russell Industrial and it was crazy underground. I stopped going to City Club seven years ago, however, I did get convinced into going there about a month ago because yolo and I was drunk enough at Small's to do it. Was fun to have some nostalgia, was weird seeing it without an actual dance floor though.

Trying to hang in there, super tired today

Who here goes to Small's for either Industrial's Not Dead or Thirstwave? I was surprised to find out there's still people in the goth/industrial scene who either have not been yet or haven't even heard of it. It's the ultimate gathering, and so many old DGNers are there it's like a DGN gathering every week.

I was looking back at some of my old posts from 2006 last night like "Well that's certainly not me anymore" 😂

We don't talk about time here because it makes some of us realize how hard the old has kicked in.

Earlier up the list you have Cheshire, he was a legendary corner kid and good friend of mine who was murdered in Flint over some dumb shit. I know for sure he was 21 because at the time I remember thinking he was so mature for being old enough to drink lol. He died while I was in college at EMU during that first month on September 16th, 2003, and he was born on May 30th, 1982. His real name was Heath John Baron Tripp, but if you ever called anyone who was a Corner Kid by their government name those were fighting words lol. I had a huge crush on him and I was devastated forever when he died, it's so alien to think of now because it makes me sad after all these years, but it seems like I'm watching a dream when I think back that far, like I'm peeking in on someone else's life because of how much time has passed and how much I've changed since then.

About to watch some Squid Game and try to get to bed on time like the boring ass old person I have evolved into
