I found out about an hour ago from The Gimp that he passed. While he didn't really care for me in the last few years just because of my personality from my understanding (can't make everyone like you, I suppose), I've never had anything but good things to say about him. He was always a familiar friendly face at the clubs that I knew I could pop a seat next to at the bar and chat for awhile. And he was always real generous, you ever needed anything, he'd totally oblige without any attitude. I've been told that funeral arrangements will most likely be announced within the next week.

Inadvertently listening to Cyndi Lauper because that's what's playing on the overhead radio here at the office.

Finally stabilizing in life. After having my baby in December, holy shit, that's a life changer. I thought "Oh, it's just a baby, how big of a deal could it be to get acclimated to life again?" Welp, life sure fucking showed me. But now I'm able to balance baby, being a Realtor, managing Detroit Ink, cleaning the house, jogging 4-6 miles a day, planning for MANFAST, being a wife, and having a social life. No, I'm not a cyborg. If I were a cyborg, I wouldn't look so raggedy

MANFAST began as a DGN (DetroitGothic.Net) yearly tradition. It was my birthday, and I wanted to see how big of a pull I could get to get dark-alt people to do something a bit out of character. Camping was my idea, figuring the plan would backfire, but I was wrong and everyone loved it to the point where we've been doing it yearly for over half a decade! It's evolved into something completely different over the years. If any of the following applies to you:~ Enjoying the combination of industrial music with a forest setting.~ Wearing your trenchcoat in the hot summer heat just to keep it real.~ Frequent places/events such as Small's, Something Cold, City Club, or Necto.~ Going outside for some sun and fresh air only to park under the shade and avoid everything because the sun is offensive to the darkness within you. ~ You're just fucking weird, spooky, or creepy. ~ Your whole life is one big, black, room...and sometimes that room can even be a camping tent. ~ If you've ever gotten into an argument with someone on why Joy Division is technically post-punk and not goth rock by the light of a gently roaring campfire ~ If you always burn your marshmallows to match the blackness of your mind. ...MANFAST is for YOU! ~THE EVOLUTION~ While it started as a simple camping trip, people became way too drunk, way too beligerent, and way too competitive, and now it's basically the fucking olympics if it were a version of the olympics where people got rewarded for being way too drunk and punchy. There's prizes sure, but the real prize? The glory of having MANPION bragging rights for an entire year! ~RESERVING~ it will be a $12 flat rate, per person, for the weekend. From what I reckon, from what I saw at Kubo, you definitely had a good start. I hate to see any couple split, but from what I saw as someone looking in, there were definitely some differences that were not amicable. It's best you guys identified that early, decided to split on friendly terms, and are moving on instead of dragging each other out for a few decades and THEN realizing it. I wish you both the best and hope you always remain close friends!

Mmm Project Pitchfork, holy shit, a concert I actually wanna go to : I will ask what time Ayria goes on though, because if I catch more than 30 seconds of Ayria I will undoubtedly be so annoyed and irritated that I probably wouldn't be able to stay long enough to watch Project Pitchfork, thereby wasting my hard earned $12. Or, if I can't get that kind of info, is there re-entry? I can always show up, watch the opening bands, when Ayria comes on I can wander out into the darkness of Hamtramck, hit some pubs, and then make it back in time for Project Pitchfork.
