Ahhh...I miss those. But fear not, MANFAST is around the corner . And if you're looking for DGN-related events outside the club, my understanding is that sadly, MANFAST is the only one that remains. Well, except maybe small get-togethers at people's houses, not sure if that's still going on or not. I'm just talking big events.

I've been sleeping and working 67 hours a week, seven days straight, that's where Cherny's been! Gonna have to start hitting up CC again when the shop opens this week, so we can promote hardcore. I will say, the ONE reason I go to CC is to see a bunch of people I haven't seen in awhile. Granted, I hate the fact that when I go to do this, I have to pay a bunch of money to get into a club where I don't touch the dance floor anymore, drinks are through the roof, and the customer service is usually shitty (I had to wait an hour to get a drink a few times because the bartenders kept serving other people who weren't in front of me, even when I'd flag them down after a minute politely). There are two DJs that still DJ CC who I REALLY almost always like their playlists, but they're not exclusive CC DJs either. I try to just go when I know that at least ONE of them is spinning that night.

Been to both, and yeah there are some people that hit both nights, but to say it's because they're "similar" makes the comparison so loosely related, eh. Plastic Passion is COMPLETELY different than CC, haven't been to Northern Lights in awhile but I had the same impression there too, that both nights are so fundamentally different from each other. Judging nights by the fact that multiple people that go to one night go to the other...well that's just as prejudice as painting the scene with one big, black paint brush, whereas most dark-alt scene people are a lot of that "black", sure, but not entirely. It would be a travesty not to notice the little ribbons of different and unique colors running through it. That would be just as preposterous as saying that if someone likes burgers, and since Big Boy, Wendy's, Checkers, Hardees and McDonalds (kinda) serves burgers, then they're all the same restaurant.

And Saint and Nocker are spinning once again, for the first time in the same Plastic Passion's night in forever. Seriously, the last time these two spun at this event together, my crew and I got so crazy it was like the movie The Hangover . But you know...more dark 'n' shit... . You have a few days to get your shit together and plan for it! Go go! Pew pew!

I know everyone is as excited about MANFAST as I am. Well, no probably not, but you're pretty excited I bet . Normally it is thrown on the weekend closest to my birthday, but just giving everyone a scheduling head's up because a lot of people take off work six months in advance for this event, because it's the biggest non-club dark-alt scene event Detroit has to offer! But most people bitch about it being smack dab in the middle of July. By then people usually like to get into the full swing of summer, vacations, travelling, summer day camp for their kids, etc. ALSO....all black attire and black eyeliner doesn't hold up well in 90 degree summer heat. You're welcome! This year MANFAST will be June 21st, 22nd, and 23rd! Don't tell me you wanna reserve right now, reservations are not open and therefore not a single fuck will be given. That's in like March/April. I'm also not sure if we're doing it in Brighton this year, but since I say that every year, we'll see how that goes . Hair styling to me is just like doing makeup: something that used to take me 2-3 hours in high school, but now I've got so much practice I can do that shit in under an hour. That goes for anyone, it's not a secret gift, it just takes some practice over and over again. It's like every time I style my hair in some way, I get faster, more inventive, and more precise about it...keep it up!

Erm...black AND bleach? No, no, you bleach THEN black. The only reason it would turn your hair green was if you did it wrong or was using cheap dye. You do the red strip down the middle first, let that sit and work its magic. Then you CAREFULLY apply the black around it, you always do the lightest colors first. Then let the black sit about 20 minutes, rinse, and voila. I've got it down to a near-science I've been through it soooo many times . If you weren't all the way up in Traverse City I'd offer a hand, but that's a bit of a hike for me .

If done right it doesn't look so bad, very nu-metal, but still. It's been done SO many times you should have a lot of examples to go by. Look up dyeing tips if you need any extra help! Trust me, a bad dye job is not something fun to walk into.

Erm, will all due respect, good parenting would tell you to be mad at both. The school kid mentality makes her think she's probably entitled to it, and she's at a tender age where "entitlement issues" can ingrain themselves into her personality and linger into adulthood, so I'd set her straight before it turns into stuff like slipping fives out of your purse when you're not looking. But with the financial issues everyone is going through, I really think that the school is out of line for sticking it to you like that.

The cover is for artistic expression though. There is always heavy symbolism in almost all facets of industrial/experimental type stuff. If you're digging then sound though, then you've got more refined tastes than a lot of people in the scene these days The sound is the super important part.

If my boss pays me today instead of tomorrow, it's a maybe, but I might stop out to CC. I wasn't a hundred percent sure just by the name "Mickey", but I had a feeling I knew who people were talking about when they described what he looked like, and I was right. Sad :(
