I am working on ideas for my rat rod chopper motorcycle idea. The main thing I am trying to figure out is how far do I want to rake the front forks out, for those who don't understand the terminology I am referring to how much of an angle to put on the support for the front suspension to extend how far the front tire will be from the frame. A long rake will make it look pretty cool and very old school Easy Rider style but it will also reduce my turning radius and make it challenging to control. I know I want to raise and stretch the front of the frame while lowering the back and making room for an extra large cruiser tire for the back. I want to use a hard tail frame meaning that there is no swing arm or suspension for the back. I would like to make a coffin shaped gas tank for it but that may be an idea for future alterations. For now I should really focus more on getting a rolling frame together and gathering the pieces for the drive train. If anyone would like to contribute ideas or know of where I can get parts cheap, please feel free to let me know. The bike will be named Zombie Hunter btw.
