Was nice to see such a great turnout! Very cool to see so many old friends NOT involving Zoom(!) and meeting a few new peeps that got by me somehow. Thanks, too, for bearing with the music. The very carefully assembled tracks that Scary Guy so graciously provided somehow decided not to play... so we were stuck with a little sumpin' I keep tucked in my car for my own amusement. On the upside, Troy and I shared a love of '80s New Wave, so... maybe not so bad? Mad luv to you all!

I've had a little luck with this site: https://www.chosic.com/find-song-by-lyrics/#gsc.tab=0 When all else fails....

Just my unbiased two cents: there's not one damn thing wrong with how you look from where I sit. I think all three of you are amazing. <resume lurk mode> π

Good to hear. Miss your face!

Gee, that sounds SO familiar! And worse, I'm in debt about $20K because I wanted to avoid a public defender... but the empty suit I hired got me the SAME result. He got an easy to win softball case and told me, "I'm afraid I couldn't win it." True story. So my rage at rogue CPS elements is matched by my fury at the gutless lawyers who collude with prosecutors to foist a PAYING client with a record that could potentially ruin their lives. And that's not to mention the poor kids! Talk about a swamp....
-
They could use you. I've had more than a heaping helping of CPS and DHS workers who are... shall we say, "less than stellar"? In fact, they're malfeasant state-employee hack check-cashers who want to look good on paper so the checks keep rolling in. So they pick a target and make shit up on official reports and there's nothing you can do about it. I cannot tell you how frustrating it can be to be to be up against that "wall." My guess is that most of them have that mindset of wanting "to help kids," but then the job poisons their minds; it's tough, unhappy, often gut-wrenching work. (A good friend of mine used to do it. After the state kept adding to his responsibilities without upping his pay, he decided to ditch that job to DJ full-time. The stories he tells....)

As a much younger man, this inspired me to try and live this way. I Β continue to aspire and fail. Β Then aspire again to try and live up to. Β (VERY short, worth 2 minites of your time ) π

UPDATE - Good news!!! So I got to bring Moe home last Friday night. She has made a REMARKABLE recovery! Since the Saturday night before, when the attack happened and doctors were talking to me about "end of life" strategies to last Friday when she texted me with complaints about the bad food and boredom (and finally getting discharged), it's truly been a classic emotional rollercoaster! I was surprised when I stopped by the following Tuesday after her admission to see that the respirator had been removed, and her faint, raspy speech coming back fully by Wednesday. By Friday, all the tubes were out, aside from the very last one, and she was once again cracking wise - the Moe we all know! Took her home and corrected that whole bad food thing. She's still not 100%, as she's adjusting to new medication, and she looks as if the ambulance rolled OVER her, rather than transported her, the bruises on her hands and arms the affects of the infusions. But it looks as if she'll be okay and she (and I) appreciated all of the kind words you had me pass along. Hopefully I'm done with fear and anxiety for a while. Not my style!

While I'm not a fan of the owners, the hospital itself is decent. My mother worked there when it was called South Macomb Hospital, back in the late '60s/early '70s. (Ran into a doctor who swears he remembers her! That was back when there was only one tower.) It's really become huge since then! Life is a terminal disease. Nobody should have to face its end alone. Moe's had the toughest life of anyone I know. She never deserved any of what's happened to her. She's one-of-a-kind and, while I don't think this is her last, I plan on making every hour I'm with her as amazing as I can. I couldn't handle doing otherwise. π

UPDATE: Today, the respirator is history! Moe, while still groggy and having zero fun, is breathing on her own and speaking, albeit very raspy and quietly (having had a tube down her throat). She's aware and seems to have had no damage done, on the mental side of things. Now we wait to see if clots have dissolved and when she might be up to going home. All crossable appendages crossed!

For sure! At the moment, as the nurses at the hospital tell me, no news is good news. Moe is still on the respirator, but she just got a new EKG (results pending), but I've seen her respond to words and is definitely aware, so that is REALLY great news. I won't be happy 'til she's off the tube, though, and I've heard her voice again. Going to see her again today. Thank you so much for your concern and kind words!

Welcome to my world. Just shows that you care. Will keep you posted.

Honestly, it came outta the blue. We were having such a perfectly wonderful day, enjoying the weather and doing a bit of shopping. We'd just had dinner and a nice dessert of strawberries n' chocolate. Then, as I was helping her get settled into bed, she began having trouble breathing. Came outta nowhere. Scary. Thank you both for all the kind words, prayers n' support!

Thanks, and back atcha. She loves you guyz.

Last night, Moe was admitted to Ascention Hospital (Macomb) at 12 Mile & Hoover in Warren. She is now in the ICU and on a respirator. Please keep a good thought for her.

LOL! I actually had a friend hold her kid's hand and have her walk my back once when I threw it out moving equipment. It was pretty awesome. While I'm not hooked up with anyone specific in Wyandotte, I've got two leads that might help. The absolute best is Rob Kelly, at Huron & West Michigan roads. (https://www.robkellymassage.com/) He was one of my instructors at Irene's, and if you're lucky enough to book some time with him, you're golden! If he's unavailable, or too far away, I've also heard good things about Kneaded Relief on Northline road. (https://www.kneadedreliefmassage.com ) I would avoid most chiropractic (they're best at maintenance), and instead try an outpatient physical therapy place - they've been popping up just about everywhere for good reason! They're the next level up, should massage not get the job done for you. Best of luck!

I would suggest getting to a decent massage therapist. If it's just muscular, you'll get some immediate relief. If not, it certainly cannot hurt, but will also let you know that it's a bit more serious. (There are also certain massage therapies that can help with rotator issues to a degree.) Let me know the general area where you are and I can recommend someone!

Yeah, I stopped going there a while back because someone (I think that same guy?) got all up in my face about my laser pointer. The stage DJ had a multiple lasers blasting the audience, which I thought odd, and I was casually (and carefully, as always) playing with mine. Dude bellowed at me as if I didn't know what I was doing, and I pointed out the stage DJ's lasers everywhere (including the audience's eyes), and that at least I was being careful, but agreed to put it away. Even still, he was dogging me for the next hour, practically tripping over me. I took the hint and left. They'll never get another nickel of my money.

Of all of the mistakes, screw-ups and outright close calls I've had in my life, I've always been happy that none ever resulted in anyone else's death or long-term injury. But recent events HAVE shown me how EASY it is to get railroaded in our wunnaful Michigan legal system. Nobody cares about intent. Nobody cares, really, if an actual crime happened. They have these vague, blanket terms and anything you do that they take exception to can be folded into one of them. It's all a numbers game; they want wins to bolster their political resume.

See y'all in a few hours!!!
