  1. That it needs to warm up and stay there. Too much shit to be done outside with it being this cold.
  2. Like I should have been doing more since this whole thing started. Sure, I've done small things, but nothing seems to entirely added up to the whole picture. The garage still needs to be reorganized (waiting for more than 2 warm days), waiting on mom to find a handle piece for the outdoor faucet so the hose/powerwasher can be used. Patchwork for ceiling cracks need to be done (due to leaks from the ceiling maybe). Painting after that in a few rooms. Cleaning out the hoarder like bedroom that's my sister's. Going through the half hidden mess in the dining area of the kitchen. And dealing with the lawn mower so that can be done. And trying to do more on my original works. It may sound not a lot compared to what others do, but I'm the only one of two people in the house with the drive to do half that stuff and the other doesn't seem to care and I'm trying to get her to do more than just sit around and watch tv. Even now that she's starting to work. She wasn't before.
  3. That sucks; wish there was something I could do to help. But there's probably not much you could do unless you go to their boss (if it was a moving company or something like that) and tell the boss what happened.
  4. To paint the bathroom in the next few days. Now to decide what color to paint.
  5. @kat When I get up and move around and do stuff, I feel fine (or not solely focused on the pain). So that's kinda why I'm thinking it's just poor posture while sitting at the desk.
  6. I hope so. I'm still hoping it's all just poor sitting posture at the desk I use for my laptop. It doesn't help that I have the chest pain and nausea. Both could be resulting from mild stress or anxiety.
  7. That I need to go for a walk or something. Yeah, it's close to midnight, and I'm living in a city that has a bad rep. Stressed out ever since i started having upper back and chest pain (two symptoms of heart attack); and feeling nauseous (which is another sign). But feeling nauseous could be from the stress of thinking I might be suffering from a heart attack (and not wanting to go into the ER), and the back pain could be from sitting at the desk where I keep the laptop and having poor posture. I feel fine when I wake up, so I wanna say it's just how I'm sitting.
  8. Finally making some progress with the Supernatural fan fiction while neglecting another piece of original work.
  9. Tess of the Road. Also got some books I wanna re-read in my room (most are packed away in the garage) plus some in my Kindle.
  10. Milk. mostly to help with the heart burn.
  11. Trying to figure out the lawn mower issue; 1. oil 2. old gas (from last year) 3. air filter One (or a combination of the three) these things is preventing the mower from turning over.
  12. Spending about 170 bucks on an amazon order or not.
  13. I've now lost count of the days since work and staying at the house. I've lost track of what day it. Still finding things to do; though can't really clean house since most of the mess isn't mine and the owner doesn't want to clean. Not my fault or issue even though I try and get the person to clean up. Finally over the cold I had over the past week if that counts as a good thing.
  14. @TronRP Thanks. I've been keeping watch over what's going on with the body; granted not everyone would show symptoms of a heart attack. But stress (I've gotten physically sick once a few years ago due to stress) and bad posture (leading to tense back muscles) combined make it seem worse.
  15. I am feeling better, so it could just be stress and the amount of time I'm sitting at the desk I use for my laptop. And I'm getting over the common cold. Wish I knew what you were suffering from, feel better all the same.
  16. Like this damn cough can go away. Got the common cold last week, then started getting pain in the upper back and left chest area. And feeling slight nausea. Panic/anxiety set in with me thinking its a heart attack. But stretching my upper back kinda has me thinking its just me sitting at the desk all day.
  17. This is why I made the discord server that I did; because discord does both voice AND video communication (I know there was more in that post, but this is the point I'm trying to make). One of the tenets of House Spiral is to be Pro-Social (Troy's words in a way), and the discord server (in whatever name it was under and way it went) was another way to be pro-social. I know the DGN board's the baby and what not, and yet it seems like there's ... hesitation in using discord for whatever reason. This is a really good idea; done through discord (under whatever server) or through zoom. Obviously the virtual get together can be discussed in another topic. But what do I know? I'm just a person trying to do something for the whole group to be more in touch during this time with an idea that's got shot down.
  18. Relaxing for a while after playing The Old Republic; watching a youtube video about service under Queen Elizabeth 2. And trying to flush out a new character for the novel.
  19. About ready to dive into eating this chili and cornbread I just made.
  20. Then we run into the, what I'm now calling the "Chick-fil-A" business model. Because the owners allow their personal beliefs bleed into their business practice/policy, it drives away certain groups of people. Being a business means you're providing something for money; whether it be food, a service (cable, energy/gas, water/sewer, etc). To me, if you're to run a business, you keep your personal beliefs, practices, etc completely separate from your business beliefs, practices, etc. You wanna tell the white supremacist off? It's your right to do so; but bare in mind that you would be opening yourself up to attacks from all the different white supremacist groups out there. It's the same thing as the "Chick-fil-A'' policy of alienating the LGBT community. Sure their food might be good, but I won't patronize it because of their anti-LGBT policy.
  21. *cue words of encouragement here* Yeah ... I got nothing except this lousy attempt at getting a small smile. Hope things work out for you.
  22. The aforementioned places Vater listed, to me, have no reason to refuse services based on one's political/religious/etc leanings. Because, like stated before, they're providing a SERVICE. I'm paying comcast/dte/whatever grocery store, gas station I go to for a service. There's no reason my leanings would come up at any point during my time at any of these locations for said workers to refuse said service. Now, if something happens like the waitress flipping out over any sort of group they don't agree with (ie the Atheist group), that would be different ... based on how the situation happened. If it was just the waitress who had the issue and the group was being respectful and being (mildly) quiet. Then yeah, the waitress shouldn't work on your meet up night. But if the group was loud against the waitress, then I can see the manager/owner asking the group to leave/not come back. I guess there's a difference between essential places (dte, gas stations, grocery stores, cable?) having the right/ability to deny service and other places like dine in restaurants/similar places having that same right/ability.
