  8. Only thing that that nags at me is the term "singer-songwriter" applying only to folk/folk-based artists. Though, you gotta remember, Stymie, that most genre names are the inventions of music journalists. Personally, not bothered by it but if I had a band I'd probably feel uncomfortable myself with classifying it. I'd be more inclined to describe the band's sound. Always wanted to start a band that plays dark and damaged rock n' roll but I would never label it "Dark & Damaged".
