  1. Pleeeaaassse let me have disposable income and the car back in shape by then...
  2. Like Willy Wonka during the tunnel scene.
  3. There used to be a handful - Caelum Bliss, Missed In Diary, Black Ocean Drowning... GLOD was an entity all its own. Would not have called them goth but I sure wouldn't call them industrial, either. Gargoyle Sox - 80s Detroit deathrock; currently, John Koester has Trapdoor Spiders, which is still kind of gothy but has now been more involved in his dark country outfit Gravetown who sound good. Not sure if Red Lipstick Death are still around. They're a MI deathrock outfit who have been about these past several years. And born-again Christian DR from what I hear. We also had Dragon's Tears Descending who had a kind of Death In June sound. And there was Midnight Mourning. Those are the ones who immediately come to mind. Oooh! And The Hex! Interesting case there - 3 highschool boys who have never listened to goth or deathrock, set out to form a psychobilly band and serendipitously ended up with a nice dark, deathrockish/post-punk sound. Sadly, they've been broken up for some time now. Still see the guys at shows and mention has been mad of the possibility of re-forming.
  4. Had this one dream that Bailey Jay and I were in some old house looking at a gallery of 50's horror comic art and I was noting how wonderfully creepy and disturbing they were and how I'm trying to evoke that same type of mood and aesthetics in my drawings.
  5. Realized I posted a handful of times in a thread that says "dating requirements" - actually, I have no dating requirements (unreasonable or otherwise)as I don't date. Only dated twice in my life and they never turned into anything. The women I've been in relationships with I've never dated. Just ended up together though we'd known each other before that. I don't date. I don't play that game. "Relationship requirement" would be a much more apt term.
  6. Prick, as they say, "you rock!". You're always checking out the new nights that come up and are always keen on hearing different stuff out there.
  7. Surely, not everyone is at The Dirty Show or Cradle Of Crap...
  8. Stormknight - you always look like a super-villain/criminal mastermind in your pics.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs8LZjQ-Kv0
  10. Now that I think about it not every club had/has this problem. The Lab rarely had this problem, many of the punk hangouts rarely have, never heard of Something Cold having this problem. Past goth nights. And these places also have an assortment of "colorful" folks. Reckon this is more to do with the venues that play music that is accessible for the douchebag-type crowds.

  12. On the other hand, said women don't seem to mind if the persons checking them out and hitting on them were female.
  13. Better to feel sinister and devious than to be moody and mopey.
  14. Damn it, Pete Burns, I would have done ya back then.
  15. Straight-billed or Fred Durst-type caps should always set off a red light.
  16. I can dig it. Though it needs to maintain it's own identity and provide an alternative to what goes on in CC. Thing was - based on many of the playlists posted here from previous events - that it seemed folks were still pandering to the CC scene/crowd. You're gonna want to completely break away from that and offer an atmosphere different from CC and with various styles of dark music that's never played there. Can't evoke that spirit of Ascension UK if folks are feeling more like they're at CC II or, great gosh almighty, Harpo's. Let CC be about beat-matching, and booty-shaking/grinding and The Ballroom about mood and atmosphere. On the other hand, this is what probably would keep most folks away and, sadly, why this may end up having a shelf life - again. An event can only last so long on a cult following.
