  1. all i can really say is, you all keep getting older, but i seem to be getting younger!
  2. sounds like this gary johnson is the most well-known non-republicrat running now, so if i manage to get out & vote, it'll be for him. tell the politicians KNOW you're sick of their bullshit & vote for the most popular 3rd party/independant candidate you can find. there's no chance they'll win, but it'll send a strong message! i wish i was richard pryor in "brewster's millions", because that's exactly what i'd do next election - write in candidacy for "NONE OF THE ABOVE!"
  3. i'm thinking "starting up a workout routine after such a long layoff is hard as hell!"
  4. i'm thinking that, as a general rule,. people are petty, vindictive, emotionally irrational fuckwads (regarding something that happened to a friend tonight). i'm also thinking about a conversation i had regarding how one needs to at least have one dream for which to aim, and the contradictory nature of my goal to live to 150 & my lack of having any dreams, aspirations, goals, or expectations of finding companionship as relates to dating (i.e. why would i want to hang around that long under those circumstances? i've no idea). (oh, and to be honest, my goal is 200, but i think 150 is more realistic.) i'm also thinking that drunk philosophy is the funniest kind of stupid. (not that i'm *drunk*, but still, i *am* stupid...)
  5. shaun, i think i'd be able to pick you out, because i remember the hat picture you posted a while back in the "fave pic of yourself" thread. tronrp, i could probably pick you out too, based on your descriptions & pic. city is a great place to be introduced to people, but if you want to get to know any of them, it's best to be a part of a group meet up elsewhere so conversation can be had. unfortunately, i'm a couple hrs away so i rarely get to CC, nor do i get to any of the few meetups i've heard about. keep at it though - the more regularly people see you, the more open they tend to be. "patience, daniel-san!"
  6. trying to determine how best to repair/replace 14ft of sink drain line in my basement. the 1st several feet from the end near the sink drop are almost completely filled with some sort of sediment.
  7. was going to post, but the things i wrote weren't helpful. hope you feel better soon.
  8. wondering if the nitzer ebb vinyl i found is actually worth anything, and also if i'm going to dig listening to it!?
  9. i'm thinking, "why does finding someone for a serious relationship have to be so goddamned difficult"? On a similar thought process, why does even finding someone to *date* have to be such a herculean task? ugh.

  11. when i got this place, it had radiant electric baseboard heaters. i set the thermostats to shut off at around 55-60 deg (as i wasn't living here yet, just didn't want the pipes to freeze). my 1st electric bill (for roughly 5 weeks) was $425, and that was in march/april. if i'd had it set at 68-70 deg? i could see $6k for an entire winter... anyway, to OP (original poster) just look at your price per kilowatt & see how much it's gone up from the same time last year. if it's not a lot, then you likely really did use that much more electricity...
  12. i'm thinking a few things... 1) i wish more women "got" what illuminatrix now understands. 2) as my sister no longer lives in royal oak, it's unlikely that i'll ever come back to the club. i can't bring myself to get a room at the leland, and i can't really swing the bread for all the gas there & back & a room for the night. 3) i really want to go out to see a couple friends' bands play tonight but i shouldn't, as i'm not feeling 100%. not sure what to do...
