  1. exactly - great idea, and it works, but I have a yoga strap that can do the same thing. it also came with 2 blocks, a mat, and a video for about $20...
  2. i must confess that i continue to have fairly major crushes on the most inappropriate/unavailable women. frustrating as hell, it is...
  3. Man in Black: "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."
  4. i've stalled - still within 1-2# of 200#, for the last month, maybe a bit more. part of it is that i'm getting busier & haven't had time to run much, though i'm still lifting. i need to get back to running 4-5 times a week, if i want to lose another 10-20#! lifting in about 30 min., then out for a run. i'm pretty tired, as today is the first day i've worked since i lost my job, but i have to do it anyway - can't give up just 'cuz i'm workin' some...
  5. hey, i've got a great idea... how about we get back to the topic at hand, regarding palin's new show? if you want to discuss liberals vs. conservatives, make a new thread about it. we can move all these post over there, then...
  6. believe it or not, i just saw "fight club" for the first time last night - surprisingly good movie! gonna watch it again in the next few days.
  7. i don't know about colbert, cuz i don't get comedy central (haven't in ages) but i absolutely love john stewart. it's been so long since i've seen him though, that i don't know whether he's slanted at all. he has a great way of lambasting the stupidity of *everyone*, regardless of political affiliation, from what i remember seeing.
  8. just for my clarification, you're saying you feel fox is the least biased/most neutral based on these studies? i'm not saying that's good or bad, as i don't watch the news, but i ask because i'm surprised. it seems everywhere i look, fox is accused of being very biased. again, i'm not making any kind of comment one way or the other about it, i'm just asking.
  9. i'll tell you why... he looks just like hellion!!
  10. i see - very cool! it's a failing of mine to connect with free verse, but i can appreciate it. i wish i was able to write in free verse!
  11. wassup! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEpef7ved3g&feature=player_embedded
  12. ah, but i've been dwelling in perpetual darkness for aeons, and the days were still born. i will see the end of herr komrade's reign, and will not weep, for i am at one with all!
  13. drinking coffee, trying to get motivated to work out tonight. meh...
  14. i like the ideas in this, but i'm a meter kind of guy, and i had trouble following the rhythm of the piece - wish i could here the beat/tempo that was in your head when you penned it! that being said, i do really like it. nice work!
  15. days will still be made, they just won't be *yours*!!
  16. the fact that it's saturay , and i'm going to be impatient until monday comes around!!
  17. i found several jobs online to which i could apply, some of which are on the east side!
  18. learning/practicing strum chords for "getaway car" and "last remaining light" by audioslave, and "all things in time" by toad the wet sprocket, and debating going out tonight.
  19. well, off the top of my head, i was prescribed celexa, wellbutrin, and concerta (i think there was one other, and these weren't prescribed close together, time-wise) - with each of them, it was no more than 2 days (48 hrs) before i felt effects. this is why they talk about prescribing anti-depressants being more an "art" than a science, because everybody's chemistry can be so different.
  20. same here - i tried a few meds for depression but could never take them longer than a week or so, they just fucked me up worse. only "meds" i take now are decongestants and expectorants. i don't even take pain meds anymore, as they inhibit muscle repair after workouts. i do still take some things, on rare occasion, recreationally, but those are few and far between. the more you allow your body to handle, imo, the better it becomes and dealing with things. i won't even go to the doctor anymore, unless i'm practically on my death bed.
  21. not to rain on your parade at all, but if that's all you're eating, it's not really all that healthy. you don't seem to have much fat in your diet, nor complex carbs, nor protein. fat is important (especially for men) due to it's effect on testosterone levels in the body. if you don't get enough protein, you'll lose muscle tissue, which will decrease your overall metabolism, and complex carbs, like cold-rolled/steel-cut oatmeal, don't spike insulin levels the way fruits/simple sugars do. what's your overall diet like? (below is a quote regarding dietary fat & T-levels, just fyi) linky!
  22. wow, i'm really surprised by this - i was affected by celexa just as quickly, but in an entirely opposite direction. from the start, though, it made me a zombie. i stumbled through days, couldn't remember what happened even an hour or two before, slept 14hrs a day, even started seeing things after a week or so on it. it really is surprising just how differently people react to meds!
  23. i have to take exception, based on personal experience, with the statement that anti-depression meds take two weeks or so to affect change. in the past, i'd tried out 3-4 different drugs, and with each one, i was profoundly affected within a day, sometimes less, and it either didn't change, or got worse, not better, over the course of 2-3 weeks.
