A witch-housey DJ from Lebanon (Thoom) is headlining at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn on Fri., April 6. Opening are DJ Tammy Lakkis and DJ Habibti. It's supposed to be an interesting dance party + there will be a book/prints fest with lots of locally made comics, etc. before/during the show. Really cool video of Thoom:

I stumbled last year upon this couple standing alone but being photographed. I approached them as they looked like the most gorgeous creatures ever and I sensed people might have been intimidated as they were so beautiful. I got to me Neha-Ceta and Sad from this beautiful band thats been around in Germany over 20 years and perform every year at WGT. The girl is a sweet heart so talented, beautiful and compassionate. Sad is also just as beautiful and his singing is omg just makes me feel full of emotions. I thought I would share one of my favorite songs. this was recorded at a performance though they dubbed over live footage with an album track. Still whether on the album or live they are amazing especially if you dig a softer more ambient sound to sway to.

This past week has been very sad in the music world first with Lemmy from Motorheads passing shortly after his birthday and a cancer diagnosis and then David Bowie who had been battling cancer. I am sitting here crying despite not ever knowing or meeting them because these legends impacted my life. I grew up with them and they are both part of one of the best generations of music the world has ever seen. They can never be replaced especially by todays craptastic shallow pop and Kunstprodukts. Lemmy was a rockstar but it is known how he was all about his fans and treated everyone respectfully. They just do not make talent like that. Now we got Bieber and Kanye and other shit acting like fame puts them above all. But you Lemmy you were not some perfect pretty boy pleasing the labels but rocking out and had you still been alive even with cancer I believe you still would have rocked at as many gigs as you could stand up to do. That was just how you were and it was your passion. Your quick passing is how you would have wanted. Not suffering and sick. Born to live live to win 1945-2016. David Bowie my beloved Ziggy star dust and Jareth the Goblin King that had me thinking why the hell did Sarah not take him up on his offer? I would have danced in that masquerade with him forever! I grew up listening to you on the radio and my dad played your vinyls. I was so fortunate to have had parents with such a great taste in music. I think that was a big influence in my growing up having parents so appreciative of music and many genres. Some I didn't like but some I grew to love or always enjoyed. My dad played your songs on his guitar and sang your songs. Being an 80s baby I seen and heard you so much on TV and the radio quite often. My heart breaks today and I wish you had not had to suffer battling cancer. Its just another reason we must find cures and ways to treat it. you were too young to go. Same age in fact as my gran that passed 7 years ago and her death anniversary is 9th January. January seems to be a sad month. Feel free to share in the celebration of our legends and share your memories and favorite songs and moments. Heres to you Lemmy and David! Hope you both are rocking out wherever you may be! I will miss you both but always be grateful for the art and music which helped me be who I am.

http://www.meraluna.de/en/ http://vimeo.com/63337597#at=0 Hey Everyone its me The Fairy Gothmother! I have not posted for a long time and sorry for that. Life has been hectic for me moving around the country and world. So some of you may already know if your a friend on Facebook that I currently live in Germany. Thats right Deutschland! I am sooo happy to be in the heart of the Goth scene where many of our favorite bands come from and where some of the worlds biggest gothic gatherings and festivals are held. I am most definately attending M'era Luna which will be my first big festival here since I have lived here. the line up in my opinion is pretty good. NIGHTWISH //HIM //ASP //FRONT 242 //DEINE LAKAIEN [acoustic] //BLUTENGEL //FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY //APOPTYGMA BERZERK //MONO INC. //THE CRÜXSHADOWS //STAUBKIND //SALTATIO MORTIS //IAMX //MESH //THE 69 EYES //TANZWUT //THE KLINIK //END OF GREEN //[:SITD:] //NACHTMAHR //KIRLIAN CAMERA //HAUJOBB //GOTHMINISTER //DIORAMA //CULTUS FEROX //CLAN OF XYMOX //IN THE NURSERY //COPPELIUS //OST+FRONT //EISENFUNK //LORD OF THE LOST //UNZUCHT //SCHWARZER ENGEL //THE ARCH //EDEN WEINT IM GRAB //RÊVERIE //DESDEMONA //MOLLLUST //Lesung: ASP & KAI MEYER //Lesung: MARKUS HEITZ //Lesung: BORIS KOCH //Lesung: CHRISTIAN VON ASTER // Very excited and just to let you know anyone who ever wants to come experience the festivals or just visit hit me up. I will be more than happy to host you at my place. If a group of DGNers want to come over and go to a festival we can all save money on group travel fares and trains and having me with my ok german language skills and my boyfriend who speaks fluent as hes German will also be helpful! I owe some respect to the Detroit scene. I got alot of inspiration and its where I started.
