Yes, yes, yes and yes.

The number one problem I'm having is a ticketable offense. My rear driver's side taillight & blinker aren't working. Checked the bulbs - they're fine. Looked at the wiring, what I can see is fine. Checked fuses, they're fine, too.

Any GM mechanics here? Will the rear ones malfunction if a front bulb is blown? The blinker blinks in the front, but I dunno about the running light.

Then there's the door latch that's been disintegrating piece by piece for about 4 years now. It's now at the point where you have to manually put it into a position that it won't smash against the hook on the body. And it won't close 100% anymore, either.

Then there's the fuel pump that's going. About a $500 repair at the cheapest.

I wish I could figure out the light problem, though. It's the only one for which I could get a ticket.

Is anyone experiencing car problems right now? Don't they suck?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes. I thought I blew my tranny yesterday morning in my van that I just bought 2 1/2 weeks ago. Fortunately it was just really low on trans fluid. UNfortunately, I now may have to have it flushed and re-lubed.

OMG... only realized how bad this sounded just after I finished typing it. :fear

Usually if a bulb is burned out, that side will not blink. That happenned to my Caprice. Running light should still work but the turn signal part may have burned out. Talk about car problems, my Caprice is parked, has been for over 2 years. bad engine and bad brakeline. Hasn't been started in 2 years. Gonna cost way to much for me to justify fixing it. FC, if you want me to check it out, let me know. I am near the Lincoln Park/Wyandotte border. Sometimes I can figure things out.

I could come and look sometime if you want. Or bring it by. What kinda car/truck? Can you get the latch at a junkyard?

I drive in a jalopi:)  The car my roomie transports me in has no front brakes, a busted exhaust, needs rotors, an O2 Censor, and a wheel bearing, least of all, an oil change:)  Hows that for ya?

Remind me not to drive near you two.

Front brakes and oil change are easy to do. What's holding ya up?

Hmmm, lets see, the fact that my roomie busted the caliper pins last time he changed the brakes and it costed me 189 buck to fix it. I buy the supplies, but the person who usually does the breaks cant do it, therefore, City Club and I are no more:( Freakin cars!!!!

Headlights aren't a big problem as long as everything around them or holding them on isn't all busted up. :wink

Two pitchers of beer? Such a deal!!

Look at it this way...though it may be bothersome, annoying and frustrating to have car troubles...at least you have cars to worry about...right? Always look for the silver lining  =)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Not always true. Look at it this way. yes I own a car. no I have not been able to drive it for 2 1/2 years. It needs an engine or engine rebuild, 1 brakeline replaced, the rest have to be inspected and possibly replaced. Needs 4 tires. Needs new brakes plus rotors and drums turned. Needs a battery. From sitting where it is, snow was piled up by it so body is now rusting badly. Plus hornets have decided it's a great place to make a home. Sorry but I can't see a silver lining there.

CV gaiter has gone on my 95 peugeot 106.

cant complain as its the original gaiters that the car came out of the factory in france with.

still to change the gaiter you have to remove the shaft and completely strip it down as things only can be removed from the engine side of the shaft on them and thier not really meant to be dissasembled. but buying a gaiter is cheaper than a shaft.

oh, and my pug 205 is still kaput on my driveway 1 year on. i may donate it to the fire service soon for training uses (ie they set a car allight and tackle the blaze to keep refresshed)
