Perhaps one reason that some men might prefer blonde (meaning fake blondes) would be because of their willingness to change their entire look so that they can be more attractive to men. Thus inferring that they are going to be more eager to please.

Perhaps.

The color her hair really shouldn't matter

And why the hell not? What are we sopposed to be attracted too? Eye color matters, Hair color, the shape of your nose, the size of your ass.. it all matters. People are attracted to each other based on appearance. I fell in love with my wife the first time I looked into her eyes. I would have never looked into her eyes if I had not already decided she had a nice ass and cleavage I wanted to fall into to. It was the whole package that got my attention. Her hair is part of that package.

TD, my statement refers to the fact that many men won't even look at you if you don't meet certain criteria. I don't think it should matter. People's personalities should matter. That's only my opinion. My husband is attracted to me for me, not for my haircolor or style (and boy, have there been many!)

i personally have had blonde, purple, pink, grey, green, black, red, and many other shades. I change my hiar color to suit me and no one else. I do how ever take brians opion in to consideration but ti does not dictate my hair color as he hated me with black hair. other then blonde (my natural blonde) i had black the longest.

Now beign out n about with men whom i have no intrest in i noticed i got hit on more with the purple hair then any other color, next would be blonde (my natural blonde or my bleached blonde), not scientific but i would assume, that men prefer blonde over any other main stream color.

You can't tell what someone's personality is from across the room. You have to want to meet someone. Appearnce and body language are the first things that people notice. If they like those, then they find out if they like the person inside the shell.

If I might interject, this assumes that your first meeting is IRL. Many people are meeting using alternative methods these days including the internet. In situations like that, personality is the first thing you have to go on.

Though I prefer dark hair, especially true red heads and real black hair, blondes can be a lot of fun. I typically find that blondes come off to me as more social and extroverted which appeals to me but I like a lot of intrigue. They have a tendency to get me out of my comfort zone, which is why I tend to date them. Obviously fake blondes, however I can not stand at all. Please ladies, leave your hair as natural as possible or go something that is obviously unnatural, nothing like synthetic green dreads or blaze red dye getting bled into the sheet!

As far as I am concernd only three people should be unnaturaly blond

Billy Idol. James Masters and Vater Araignee. when I see A blond I think of blond jokes.

I'm proof that Blonds think the world revolves around them but then again I'm proof that perfection isn't.*WEG*

excuse me I gotta go to the bathroom my eyes just turned brown.

  • 4 weeks later...

I fought against the "looks matter" thing for years. Finally gave up.

I could spout off romantic sounding "well i think this... and i think this..." but what basis would i have for saying any of that? The Bible According To Troy , would be about it. :cool :

No matter how hard i tried, i just would not be happy with someone i found "phsyically repulsive" to me, personally that wouldnt be a hair color issue, and i really dont give a damn , in any direction, what color a girls hair is (see my previous statement) I want somone that is "cute" (pretty broad range for me) and beyond that im more interested in personality, but looks ARE somewhat a factor, no matter how much i'd like to deny it.

But there might be some guys out there that just (for whatever reason) cannot stand a certian hair color. What intergalatic law of relationships to i consult to tell them they are not allowed to use that as (at least a factor) in deciding who they like?

Like it or not, looks DO matter, they arent the ONLY thing that matters, but they do matter to some degree. Even people with very low (subjective term) "physical standards" still do have a bare minimum "attractiveness level" that they are willing to put up with. Some women just would not be interested in a 4 foot tall 700 pound man , no matter how witty he was. Why? Im not sure, i tried to find that Hitchikers Guide To Universal Dating Guide on ebay but i was outbid.. damnit.

Hell from a philisophical standpoint , you could make an argument that personality shouldnt matter either. Whos to say what matters and what doesnt? Is there a cosmic rulebook somewhere that has these rules listed? How do i tell someone what factors do , and do not matter?

If its from a "personal happyness" standpoint then i really have ZERO basis to talk to them. If its from a "survival of the species standpoint" then i guess they should only date 200 IQ, amazon women?

Yes i've spent way to much time thinking about this one.

"Like it or not, looks DO matter."

unless the person is hideous, looks really don't matter to me that much.

and i would not want to date a 4 foot 700 pound man cuz for one is shorter than me and two, weighing that much means you don't care enough about yourself to take care of yourself. that would be the issue to me. not how the person looks. what that "look" represents is what matters.
