Okay,

went on the post about cigarettes and who smokes them or not. I am a seriously addicted smoker. However, I know that it is slowly killing me. Hey, whatever! is my way of thinking right now! BUT......I do want to quit eventually. Has anyone any good ideas or things that have worked for them. Nicorette really pisses me off only because it is so damn expensive! They want you to quit and then they charge you whole damn paycheck for one box! okay, exaggerating a bit. But really! Anyway, rant and rave and agrue about whats best. hope to hear some good responses here!!!

Oh yeah......

Day 13, cold turkey.

Not one puff.

*Pats self on back*...."You done good Kell....Ya done good".

yeah been told before cold turkey is the best way. I have heard of the pain. I will probably be an unbearable bitch for awhile. But hey i guess its better than slowly killing myself and dying.

It's tough man it's tough.

I went 7 months and had one smoke. Put right back into full fledge addiction.

Been through the worst part before, so I was somewhat prepared. Being prepared however does not make the withdrawals any better or less intense.

I'm just glad the really hard part is over.....I thought I was going to lose it. :nut

This is NOT recomended but this is how I quit.

I was a chain smoker, smoked at least a pack of reds a day. To quit I had a friend of mine stay with me for a week with a wooden baseball bat. He set the smokes on the counter, and evertime I went for them....He slammed the bat on my fingers. He broke 2 of my fingers that week, but I dont smoke any more, My pinky cant go straight unless I use my other hand though. Even still, it was worth it to quit smoking.

I will have the occasional clove cigarette still, but only special occasions and only one.

Good luck quiting, hopefully you find a less painful way of doing so.

Heh heh ... I was my own dicsiplinary person.

I think I broke a major blood vesel in my hand smashing it with a coat hager until it broke.....reaching for a butt..... :blushing :doh :confused

Day 8 Brenda?

That is GREAT!

What do you mean feel better?

Were you not feeling well as a result of smoking or are you talking withdrawal and anxiety....

I'm on day 14 and yesterday I was having some intense raving attacks....a few today....

I've conditioned myself to ignore it at this point...not to say it isn't difficult, but.....doable... :confused
