How to sum up Galacticus...

He's older than the Marvel Universe for one. He was actually a mortal scientists from the Universe that existed before this one. That Universe was sold old it was near the end of the collapse phase. His planet sent him out in a space ship to the collapse point.. they were the last planet that still existed with life in that Universe... They were trying to see if they could stop and reverse the collapse. It didn't go as planned. He was sucked in... and "Universe" decided she has a use for him. "Universe" is the.. well... think Mother Nature for the whole damn universe.

Skip ahead a few million years... The big Bang has happened... a new Universe is rapidly expanding away from the event source... and at the source is a large "thing" mostly machine like... at it's heart is the scientist.. slowly being transformed into a force of Universe. After a untold years.. it opens.. and out come Galacticus... His mission is to exist. To do that... he must feed. Just so happens that what he feeds on is the natural life force of planets. I don't mean any old ball of rock orbiting a star. He needs planets with life. Doesn't have to be sentiant... just life. So he wanders the Universe "eating" worlds. He has a herald that goes before him and finds worlds that support life. Silver Surfer was one of them. Silver Surfer (Noran Rad) had a greater concousis. He found worlds that had life.. but not "people". At least.. as often as he could. He found Earth.. and liked it. There was no time.. the people had no way of leaving the planet... and they were pretty nice people with potential. So, Silver Surfer betrayed Galacticus and sided with the Earthlings... eventually... they made a deal... Galacticus could infact eat Earth.. but only when it was the last planet left in the Universe.

Who would win if the Spectre (DC) fought Galactus (Marvel)?

The Spectre is the physical embodiment of the wrath of God.

Probably Galactus because the Spectre gets distracted whenever they need him for a big job (like killing the anti-monitor in Crisis on Inifite Earths or killing Alexander Luthor in Infinite Crisis. ....but the Spectre did kill the Wizard Shazam).

i think i saw a what if comic where ghost rider used his penance stare on galactus making him feel all pain he ever inflicted. he fled earth in terror vowing never to return.

also he had a nemmis i cant recall the name but he was feuled by the universes life force. as galactus destroyed it his power weakened. so a natural battle occured.
