Contacts

Recommended Posts

I ordered two pairs of contacts and they came in today. Ocean Blue and Jade Green are the colors.

I've never worn contacts before so I'm kinda freaking out a little about putting them in. Can someone who wears them give me some advice and/or tip and tricks on how to put them in and take them out?

I would greatly appreciate it =)

place the contact right the end of you pointer finger .. add a bit of Renu or what ever other mulit-purpose soulition you have to your eye. Then add a drop to the lense itself while on the end of you finger ... you only want about a drop or so .. you don't want to much or it will just turn right over as you try stick it in your eye.

Apply contact to eye while looking up. It may feel like it is stuck or not flat enough on your eye ... roll your eye back and forth DON NOT BLINK! .. blinking will cause it to just wrinkle up more and you will end up blinking it out of your eye. =)

Good luck, everyone does it a bit different B .. I hope this will help you a bit.

The instructions I have say to blink hard after putting them in... hmm. That doesn't make any sense to me.

I'll try your way first tho, thanx babe!

you will feel it when its ok to blink =) but if you blink to soon without smoothing it out first .. its going to fold and come out of your eye ... You will know when the time is at hand to blink little one =) Good luck =)

I make sure my eyes are moist, put the contact on the tip of my finger (I use my right middle finger), and put a drop of solution in it just as Meg said. However ...

With my left hand I hold my top eyelid open, with my right two little fingers I hold my bottom eyelid open, I lean over so I'm staring straight down and slowly bring the contact towards my eye. Capillary action and water tension draw the contact off of my finger and onto my eye when it's close enough.

Once in place, I lightly rest my finger on the contact and slowly move it in small circles getting out any excess liquid and air bubbles. Once securely in place, I blink a few times to make sure it'll stay and once comfortable, I can stand up and look forward and all is good.

Getting them out on the other hand ... have fun.

I do it pretty much like that except for the drop in the eye first. Then once I get the lens on my eye I kind of lift my eyelid out & down over it, gently pat the eyelid (to smooth wrinkles/air bubbles), then do the eye-roll thing. That's how I was taught to do it 25 years ago... they may recommend different methods now. The drop in the eye does make sense tho- gives the lens something to stick to? Maybe I'll try that (when I come up w/the loot for new contacts that is) :confused

And of course, cleanliness is paramount!! Always wash your hands before handling your lenses, and if it falls in the sink or counter during the process, rinse it with more solution. You also want to be careful about spraying perfume, hair products, etc. with your lenses in. If you do, shut your eyes, spray, then take several steps back or to one side (out of the "cloud") before opening them.

Good luck! It can take a bit of getting used to, but before long you won't think twice about it!

I pull my bottom lid down with my middle finger, and have the contact on my pointer finger. THen I look up and put the edge of the contact on my eye and slowly drop it on. This helps keep the major air bubbles out. One it's flat on my eye I roll my eye and blink a few times to settle it on my eyeball.

They'll feel weird the first few times and then you won't notice them.

As for taking them out, I just gently pinch the area in the middle of the contact and pull it off. Don't pinch hard, just enough to pull it off the surface. Then you can clean them and put them away in the case.

OMG.. I don't think I have it in me to do this *lmao*

So, how do you take them out?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sorry, didn't mean to freak you out. lol

Getting them out is actually easier than getting them in, though harder to learn it seems. What I do it hold my eyelid open with my pointer of my left hand on the top lid and my left thumb on the bottom. Then I take my right thumb and pointer, place them gently on the surface of my eye, and then bring them together pinching the contact in the process. It helps if your fingers are dry as they stick to the lens better.

Putting in = wet.

Taking out = dry.

I highly recommend you go to an eye doctor and have someone there tutor you on putting them in and taking them out. If they won't do it for free, then go somewhere else.

I only use one hand not two, I pull down the lower lid only. A trick, make sure you get the WHOLE contact against your ball.......not the bottom, then the top.....let the thing get sucked in there. After you get it placed on the ball move your eye around slowly until it is totally in place.

Oh and put them in before your makeup until you get good at it.

Make sure its TOTALLY clean because even just a piece of dust feels like a log in there. I take them out towards the inner corner, which your not suppose to do......its the only way that works for me.
