Corsets

Recommended Posts

I get tons of compliments on mine from Alter Ego Erotics on eBay. And you know how big I am. It does wonders for me, is comfy as all hell, and well made.

Note: PM me about measurements & what size to get. Their rep talked to me one-on-one and the size she recommended ended up too big. I've done such extensive research and bugged the living crap out of her to the point that I probably know her product better than she does. :wink :grin

This is a third vote for Alter Ego. I also have 2 leather ones I'm selling... One of them needs a touch of repair, the other is new.

Both leather, 33" waist overbust and 27" underbust... I can give you pictures.

I also make them.

Cloth ones are a bit harder, but Gallery Serpentine and Vollers always turn out great stuff.

I would like a nice quality "real" corset, too... cheap stuff doesn't fit me at all (everything rolls at the waist/hips)... I'm wondering, exactly what do you mean by "cloth ones are a bit harder"? Harder to get the right fit, or just harder to find a quality one in general? The Alter Ego stuff is gorgeous indeed, but I've never been much of a leather grrl... if that's what it takes to get a decent fit, tho, that's what I'll go with...

Can someone provide me with a linky? For some reason my search results for that store is turning up with nothing.  =)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I had trouble too... ended up Google-ing it. I think it's 'cos they're just running a store not really doing auctions... plus the seller name has goofy spacing.

Anyway... HERE 'tis

& LPK, if that exoticfashionmall stuff is what you're looking for, I've seen most of those styles on eBay for half what they're asking. I suspect that ManicQueen, like me, is looking for a more exact fit, steel boning, and tightlace-ability. Those little dainties are very pretty, but useless if you don't wear standard misses or junior sizing... plus they don't last long if you tend to be hard on gear like me

Quality cloth ones are hard to find. Also, because they don't "mold" like leather does, they need a better fit. I would make sure that whatever you get has steel boning, not plastic or "simulated whalebone". Also make sure that it does not have any stretch or hooks and eye closures. A good heavy corset should also have at leat 2 layers to it and I tend to look for 3 or more with the inner layer being a heavy cotton fabric with no stretch.

(Sorry to sound like a know it all, I just LOVE the corset! =) )

I bought an alter ego one from Nienna and I loved it. It was the only leather corset I have owned, so if you saw me in it and liked it - that was it. People came up to me (not at city club) and were complimenting me on it asking where they could get one.

Unfortunately/fortunately, I lost too much weight and ended up selling it. Wouldn't mind getting another one but I still have more weight to go to justify the expense for a nice one.

This is something that you should consider, Brooke. You have been (I'm sure) and will continue to lose weight rapidly. Are you sure that now is a good time to get one?? Aren't you still healing from the surgery - will the tightness of a corset cause problems?

Well, I don't plan to buy till Sept. By then, I will have lost another 30-40 lbs. So I am going to wait. That would be kinda silly of me to get one now, eh? :laughing

As far as causing problems with the incision site. Nope. I have been wearing this hospital made "corset" from the hospital and it's tight. But the doctor says's the tighter the better. Better healing and better healing for the scar. So I'm not worried about it. =)

I just bought one from Alter Ego on Ebay. I love mine!! Its a leather one and very comfy. I had a hard time deciding what size to get but I ended up with a 30 inch waist and I did have a TON of extra lacing that I had to cut off so I was not tripping on it. I usually wear about a 11-13 size pant and am a 36-38 DD.

I am very pleased with mine and it is good quality! I paid alittle over $100 for mine with shipping and insurance.

Here is a pic of mine.

Ignore my fatness please! :erm

Alter Egos is amazing. I own two of theirs and will probably buy more in the future.

As for cloth ones, those will run you upwards of 300 and up for a good one. I have a few sites that I've looked into if you'd like them. But you're not going to find decent work for cheap.

Corsets are and art all in themselves. Let alone the people who wear them.

An art in themselves indeed... the transformative magic of body as art.

OK, you guys have convinced me I should go w/leather, for my first one anyway (I have a feeling corsets are as addictive as tattoos). So I will forgo my dream brocade for now!
