...Again I am here to complain about the serenity club. Nothing but a buncha Bush-loving addicts. It is all about clicks and booty music. Some people their are extreamly self-centered. The reason why I go their is because they need me and I need to stay sober.

We didn't care the first time, we still don't care now.

I have a lot of issues with the 12-step scene in general... among many other things I don't like the way you are expected to define your entire life and self only by your addiction. Well, yeah, I was an addict... but I was a lot of other stuff, too. I also don't like the "everyone you ever got high/drank/gambled/whatever with is a dirtbag addict who just wants to drag you down" bit. So... all those people should be thinking about me the same way?

I know a lot of people are helped by 12-step but the whole thing always seemed really unhealthy to me.

AFA the various personalities one tends to encounter there- well, if they were emotionally healthy, grounded people they wouldn't be there, now would they?

Do you still consider yourself an alcoholic? You know the program says that you are when you say you are.

drug of choice was opiates, not etoh... but no I don't consider myself an addict any longer, that's another 12 step party line I disagree with & feel is a very unhealthy attitude to perpetuate.
