That's called an inferiority complex.... and it is bad, bad, bad......

Because I am white, does that give me an excuse to make more money and be evil? NO!

It's kinda like saying, "your race has mistreated my race a certain way throughout history so I can treat you however I want"

Is pathetic.  I hear it too much.  Someone using the excuse: I am irish, thats why I am prone to drinking/temper problems.

Bull shit.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I SO HATE THAT.

GOD.

How about people who are like, "Yeah, don't mind me, i'm Irish and German."

Yeah, so am I. that doesn't give you an excuse to be an asshole all the time.

I am Dutch/German/Scottish/Norwegian...

So I am prone to getting in boats, then invading villages full of jews, starting barfights with them, and then attempting to set up spice trades....

um yeah... there is so much that could be said here....

like...

not all mexican immagrants are hard working family people...

not all germans like to stuff jews into the ovens...

not all white people own slaves nor has their family ever owned slaves...

not all jews are penny pinching or in entertainment...

but....

stereo types exists for a reason. as evil as they are.. enough people are like that to make the stereo type.

Well my family are a bunch of drunks and they are from Polska. It's part of their culture. I don't use it as an excuse but rather as a description as to why they are like they are.

I hate to say it but many many Eastern Europeans do drink too much. My family included, unfortunately.

and enough exceptions to the rule exist to quite simply create an exception to the rule.

you will focus upon that which you search for.

its the motivation that counts.

Wow... I never knew people actually used those excuses... then again... I rarely bother to actually listen to what most of the mongril idiots on this planet have to say.

I usually just use the "I'm American so Fuck You" excuse.

... at least it's honest.

I'm black, korean, irish and scottish.

I'm prone to drinking because I picked up my first liquor shot at 12 and loved it.

I'm prone to violence because i feel the need to defend people who cannot defend themselves, and because I love to fight.

I don't use race as an excuse but I do say it plays a very large blame factor.

I got scholarships and grants that paid for my college tuition. Bush took office and I was no longer considered black and therefore lost most of my school funding.

I work in a warehouse and when they need to secure a job that requires half of the employees to be minority i'm all of a sudden considered black.

According to my grandfather when I was a baby. I would amount to nothing because I was of inferior race. I was a monkey. My brain could not function like "normal" peoples could.

Funny. I graduated high up in my class though I rarely attended school. I went to LTU on scholarships and grants for Electrical Engineering w/ chemical background. I started reading shakespere in the 3rd grade even though my 3rd grade teacher said I was failing because I was too stupid. But she would do the best she could with me.

My racial makeup hinders me alot in life. Funny part is. If I was all black it wouldn't be as bad. I'm told my whole life growing up that I'm black. You are whatever your father is unless you are jewish then it falls on the mother. But most people look at me and assume I am white. I even have skin heads salute me when i shave my head. Its sad.

I would mark 'bi-racial' or 'other' whenever I had to fill in my ethnicity. Of course schools would erase that and mark black so they got more money for their minority students. And we were few and far between.

------------------------------------

On another note. Irish can typically be more prone to drinking if they come from a very traditional background. My family is partly irish, they are all drinkers. I became a drinker because it was acceptable in my family. But this is also true of any alcoholic family.

Its hard not to blame race when race is an issue. Excuses I don't believe in but sometimes blame is just as bad.

Race is an issue. And just because you belive in equality does not mean that it exists.

Don't confuse Race with Culture...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Being black and discriminated against is not culture. If it was about culture I would be praised, looked up to. Shit look at what many blacks have over come.

I'm not trying to make race into an excuse.

Ignorance makes race an excuse.

My ethnic makeup (not background) has made me less compassionate to man (as in humankind). I have been called nigger, gook, mick etc. I have been blamed for others oppression and heartache all because of my race.

My culture consists of the home and neighborhood I grew up in. La La Livonia. Which was by the way, not very kind to my race when I was growing up. My racial make up has made me bitter and hateful toward many people.

But like HH says. Stop using race as an excuse. People also need to stop pretending that it isnt a problem either.

Race will always be an issuse as long as ignorance survives.

That's not what I am talking about....

The portion I am addressing is.... well the "my family drank" is not racial it is cultural, or familial.... being called racial slurs does relate to race, but how your family treated you doesn't

Your grants and/or scholarships were actually reviewed and you were denied after having been given benefits, after Bush changed a law or something?

Wow, that is just so wrong....do you have to be a certain % or something? Is this part of the revision of the Equal Opp laws?
