DJ Nocker
Did you have fun, did you even go? Personally I thought thy played a very short set and the singer wasnt into it at all until about 3/4 of the way through the concert...but they did play a couple really good songs. What are your opinions?
odims_sphere
I agree, however it's hard to stay into it when there is only like 30 people there who are for the most part just standing around, and after talking with them at CC later they I learned they didn't even get paid to be there. Another shining example of why bands hate detroit. The night befor they were in wisconsin and made $7000 for one show, then nothing here. Not to mention that they tried to book this show 2 months ago but didn't revieve a phone call back untill about 2 weeks befor the show. They are really great guys though, very friendly. They said they had a lot of fun. Hopefully they'll want to come back.

Although them not getting paid is a bunch of bull. That is kinda funny to hear they hated detroit, at least in the metal/hardcore genre, alot of bands love detroit... Industrial/ebm/goth/whatever else you wanna call it bands just don't make any money here. I remember when we promoted the Apop show at CC a few years back. Chaotic Arts was the production company. They took out personal loans, promoted the shit out of it and actually ended up selling 30 more tickets than the max allowable in CC, (somewhere around 600), and they still lost their ass. I don't know what the answer is but money is definatly the problem getting bands to play here.
Joey Deadcat
What happened with the $$ situation? Did Labyrinth dip into it? Booked a couple of events there in the past. First one, the main band made $1000. It was totally hands-off for the club. Does it depend on how business is done with The Lab? I would've thought Informatik would've made their guarantee with very little hassle. Again, I've only put together a couple of events there - don't know how business is regularly done there. He just said that they made nothing except for merchandise sales. For all I know that's what their contract was. Or possibly after X amount of people they get the door sales and it just never got there. Again I don't know the details any more than they didn't get paid anything to be there.
