All right I want to know how you all react to these things and what you do in response.

I was walking through the school parking lot the other day and this girl had her car window rolled down and when she passed me she yelled out :"Freak!!" I just kinda shook my head and walked away.

Should I have said something or was what I did appropriate?

What would you have done?

Also, I was walking into Kroger and this lady was walking the opposite way as me and when she saw me she backed away from me. I smiled and said hi and she looked me up and down, kinda scowled and just kept walking. I couldnt believe it! I was being nice and she was being nasty.

What would you have done in this situation????

Please share. I would like some incite into this matter.

For your style to be genuine it has to reflect the amount of abuse you're able to shrug off. If the reactions of teenagers and republicans affect you that much, tone it down. If it doesn't bother you, ignore it.

The important part is not to ignore the instigators, but only to ignore their negative actions. Treat them as if they aren't assholes. That behavior will be best for you and will promote goth-acceptance in your community.

Heh. Just kidding. To the girl? I would have made one of those real funny faces.....stuck out my tongue, crossed my eyes...and make a strange loud noise. Hell, don't want to make a liar out of her right?

The lady well, I probably would have mumbled something under my breath but loud enough for her to hear and pushed my way past her, and said something like 'nasty bitch'

But if I were in one of my love everyone moods I would just smile and walk away.....depends on the mood really.

just pitty them for being STUCK in the vanilla only life and know that you at least have the guts to follow your heart when it comes to your true self.

I think that you did the right thing by just walking away. I mean, why stoop to her childish level? Very few people hurl insults at me, and I just let it roll off. The reason people throw insults is because they feel inferior or are jealous because they don't have the balls to be independent. Everywhere I go, I get stopped because of my tattoos. NOT in a bad way, either. People compliment me on the artwork that my artist does. He's gotten a lot of business from referrals from my friend, Amy, as well as from me. There's only one person from whom I have heard insults, either directly or indirectly. Sadly, that person has the self esteem of a gnat and has no business insulting me. He needs to focus on being a better person before picking on the superficial. A lot of people do that. Just ignore their immaturity.

Honestly when I was younger I use to get a kick out of shit like this ...

THe girl in the car would have gotten her dumb ass pulled out of her car windown and her ass beat . but I'm in a transitional period (lol dont mind the PF quote) .... I'm trying to deal with my anger in a more productive and effective manner so I probably would have just yelled at her untill she was scared and just let it be...

When I was in highschool I loved to freak ppl out that would just look at me, like make silly faces, start talking to myself, or just tell them "boo"... its funny to see ppl freak out lol ..

Just please yourself .. if other ppl dont like it then FUCK THEM. What do you care what some ignorant person happens to think of you anyway, its not worth the energy to care if you dont give a rats ass about them ... =)
