:devil

Earlier I had to go at least 120mph on 75,because of the moronic drivers on 696,

I myself will risk my life not anyone elses if I am running late for work,as long as there are very few cars on the road I will go as fast as I can to make it on time.has anyone else ever had to do this BS before? Its very rare for me to do this but I would rather be on time than be late for work.as long I will not endanger any one on the road.unfortunately cannot get away with this in winter.

I've gotten too many tickets in the last few years.

I've just got a bad habit of leaving too late. I've been forcing myself to leave 10 minutes earlier for every single appointment I have had this month and my stress level has gone down so much.

It's a simple thing and I'm surprised how much difference it has made.

*sigh*

Now with my new habit I'll have to find my excitement in ways other than speeding. :laughing

120mph to get to work? do you know how many people you could kill (other than yourself) if you lost control at that speed? i think that's pretty damn irresponsible. my opinion, if you're gonna be late, just call - if you've been late enough before that you might get fired for being late again? well, take responsibility for your lack of proper planning to allow adequate travel time, don't chance taking out a lot of other people cuz you can't wake up in time.

just my thoughts... :erm

another reason i dont speed.

i accelerate. i get caught behind another car on a point i cant overtake, who happens to be 10 miles under limit, i get oppo, i overtake, 5 mins down the road repeat.

If you drove on the correct side of the road you would never get stuck behind people.

On Monday nights I stay at Carla's which means I have to drive an hour to get back home Tuesday mornings... I go a little fast. 85-90ish. I try to keep people's welfare in mind. However...I wish people would use the left lane properly. I wish people would signal properly. Life would be much simpler and safer. I do things around corners that no one who doesn't possess a racing license should do. I had one for ten years. That is all. :whistling

brassfusion:

left hand and right hand. dont confuse the fact the averagely stronger hand is the so called as its the side you should be on the roads. the right hand is for the weapon and you should drive on the left. the right hand is correctly facing to parry any attacks dealt to you.

i never speed anymore. the fastest i would ever go before was about 70 or 75 at most.

now my car can barely handle 55 :p

i think the fastest i have gone in the past year and a half (as long as i have had this car) is 55-65. that is more woody's choice than mine. lately he doesn't even want to go on the freeway at all (his front legs are ailing him) so we stick to the regular streets and go only about 25-50 depending on speed limits. i also don't speed because i pretty much always have the kids with me.

my ast peugeot could only go 65 and it would scream at you. it was rigged with an overlaping ratio gearbox to cope with climbing some of the roads here (took pics sunday of my favourate 5 miles. 5 miles of twists and turns not a couple of footteps away at angles reaching 45 degrees)

current one will do 80. but it takes forever to accelerate being a normaly aspirated diesel and i like low revs to bump the fuel economy into the 60's (since saterday last i have done 560 miles on one tank in a car the size of a ford fiesta).

next car... looking at 25mpg if i dont tweek it like dropping a modern GM power steering rack into it. and i dont know if its possible to convert to an LPG system as i will have to convert the fuel system over from leaded petrol (old ford essex V6's)

I dont need to speed to get to work or anything else because im such an obsesive nut job that i leave 30-45 min before i have to be at work and work is rarely ever been more than 20-25 min away. i guess the whole, to be early is to be on time and to be on time is to be late, thing stuck with me a bit to much. i was the same way in high school and was usually at least 45 min early for class. Im weird i know... :blushing =P

:devil I definately look for the others when I have to change lanes, shit its mostly SUV drivers that go the fastest.

60 mph is gives the best mpg ratio, 65 is the fastest one should go because after that you're really blowing your gas out the window.

Sort of. Depends on the car. Weight, coefficient of drag, size, type of engine, gear ratios, etc all play a part in determining the optimum speed from a fuel economy point of view. No matter what, though, drag increases exponentially with speed (Double the speed = four times the drag) and above 60ish drag is the main power consumption component.

As for 65 being the fastest anyone should go... I disagree. There are compromises to be made for time efficiency. And I drive little cars so I can drive faster without a huge increase in fuel econmy. I'm still twice as efficient as a big SUV even when I drive quickly.
