BillyDeath
It seems that out of all healthy things - like eat, sleep, and exercise -sleep is one of the most treacherous health factor to neglect or not get enough of. They say that a person should get at least a minimum of 8 hours of sleep within a 24 hour cycle. If I am up all night with no sleep it better be the night were I don't have to work or do things that doesn't require that much focus or big responcibilities or I am fucked because I really can't function the next day. I try to atleast get a minimal of 6 - 8 hrs of sleep. It seems that most people I know get 4 - 6 hours of sleep a night. I have experience sleeping for over 24 hrs before. Is their such a thing as catching up on sleep if you lose any because if not what are you soposed to do if you lose any?
Paper Hearts
It's just an average. some people need less. I am a notoious short-sleeper. I do 3-4 hours most nights. (and look at me I'm normal)
Gothmama25
I have to get at least 4 hours of sleep a night. Any less than that and I get what I refer to as the "Exuastion High". I call it that cause when a person doesnt get enough sleep, it kinda feels like your high(dazed, not focused, blurry vision, trouble talking or slurring words, etc.). That is a smart move not going to work like that.

AstralCrux
If deprived of sleep humans will "catch up" however it doesn't require 4 full hours, if you lost 4 hours. Usually something like 1-2 hours will suffice for the missing 4. You don't make it back up hour for hour.
Homicidalheathen
I think so. Have always been an insomniac. My life just requires sometimes a full 18 hour day. I work for 12-14 sometimes as we have our own buisness. It doesn't happen but a couple times a week but usually together, then there will be other things that come up on the 3rd or 4th day. I feel like shit if I don't have any r&r and excersize so I do that before sleep. Going 2-3 days a week no sleep wears on you yes but then If I sleep for 12 hours I am good to go again. But I have always been this way. I think everyone is different. I know a guy who needs 12 hours a day. After work, he doesn't have much of a life thus, but if he doesn't sleep a ton he feels like crap and gets sick.

kellygrrrrrl
I am my most rested when I get 3-4 hours. I will sleep up to 10 hours some days, and still feel tired. This makes no sense, but it's true!
