My buddy Nate had a couple on his doorstep a few years back. He happened to be thumbing through the Satanic Bible as they were knocking on his door. They offered him a bible. His response? He showed them what he was reading and said, "No thanks, I have my own." He then promptly slammed the door in their face.

My Dad's side of the family is mostly witness's.

At family reunions and parties, I would get preached to. What am I talking about, I Still do.

I think it is nice what they "Do for God"....they honestly believe that this pleases GOD, as biblically it says to "spread the word" and blah blah blah...so they are only doing what they are commanded.

I don't necessarilty agree but I understand....

It's certainly not for me.

My Grandmother has some great stories going door to door.

And some really scarey ones too.

I have to hand it to them, I do. They get shit on so much and they are only trying to be nice, and good and faithfull servants.

Got any good stories about them knocking on your doors?

Btw...I am not a witness.

I am educated on the subject though.

yeah... but they "put themselves on the cross" (hoping to get shit on by going door to door) so they can feel better about themselves. Sure, they want to "help people find salvation", but they also want to say to themselves [and brag to others] "look how much I put up with for Jebus, I am such a good [whatever], because I "suffer" at [nonbelievers] doorsteps for other peoples wellbeing... etc.

which defeats the purpose really....

be a good and faithful servant in queit.

The quiet and faithful servant....

to brag is a sin in itself....to in a sense they defeat thier purpose f they brag about in that fashion.

I know what you mean.

To put themselves on the cross....

I guess.....

It's said they WILL be persecuted against.....it's known it will happen before they go into it.

It is a well known fact that you will be "persecuted" against...when talking GOD in any religion.

I don't know how Jehova's Witnesses work, but I grew up baptist and the baptists actually enjoy being persecuted against. They pretty much think that we're about ready to enter the apocalypse at any given time and that their suffering is proof that the end is near. The more they suffer, the closer they are to the end, and this makes them happy. So ass-backwards...

I actually know some pretty decent baptists. It's just the white ones you have to watch out for.

With all the specifics about what they can and can't do medically, they'll start wiping themselves out eventually. But, I've known some that were JW, and they really weren't that preachy. They only brought it up if I started asking questions out of natural curiosity.
