Ahhhh.....don't be freaked out.

They are just doing what they think they should be doing for God.

Some people are just pushy by nature....

It depends on who you are getting to represent the Big Guy....

Some people can make Gold look bad....you know what I mean?

Just be nice. =)

I'm always curious to hear other former JW experiences and to find out where its led them. maybe at the barbecue?? (I thought I was going to have to cancel but its looking good again)

I think this could get to be a kinda touchy subject. Even if i don't share the same view as someone, I at least don't bad mouth them if they come to the door. I have some JW's in my extended family and only one of them ever preached to me. They're very kind, loving people. And what they do, they do because they care and think they're helping. Some of them can be pushy, but for the most part they're very good people. I'm not a JW, by the way.

Thirty years?

Her late husband put the sign up more than 30 years ago when members of the church called at their house on Christmas Day.

Wow. I mean, that sign--how totally it must be offensive that it must be taken down now that nobody cared enough about in three decades to complain enough to have it removed.

I guess that if it were me I would take it down without a fight (I don't exactly have the funds to fight this sort of thing) saying, "Well, it had a good run." But not before making the guardai requiring it be taken down understand the shameful stupidity of their request. I suppose that's pretty much what this article is doing.

I am perfectly fine with people being Scrooges on their own lawns (the Christmas day bit.) My head was equipped with a neck that has muscles that allow me to turn it; this, I think, was a precautionary mechanism in case my sense of humor burnt out.
