I'll be going, in full costume!  Don't know what weekend though. :cheerful

(I don't know how to pull off the fuschia hair though....they probably wouldv'e stoned me then thinking I was a witch or something...???)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just say that it was an evil witch that turned your hair that color and the only way that you can get it turned back is if strangers buy you more "mead." :cheerful

I'm down for a DGN outing to the ren fest if others are interested. =) I've heard that it's a lot of fun, but I don't know too much about it otherwise.

I've never been and I REALLY want to go, and I'm probably getting two free tickets for giving blood.

I'd definitely want to wait till around the end of September. I mean jeez, I just opened the door to let the dog out and it was like opening the oven.

'Cept the oven isn't on so it's not as hot in the oven as it is outside.

Can I just say something? -These people at the renaissance festival are abslute freaks. I mean someone please tell me what exactly is going on there. I don't understand the premis. -I see people dressed as knights getting into their Volvos...and I'm just shocked.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It's called having fun, you should try it some time.

I'll be going the weekend of the Highland Fling. Saturday to be exact.

At least, provided I get that weekend off, even after I requested it. ;_;

Going in full costume that mother made last year, not including the corset.

=D

Silver Leaf in Kalamazoo just ended this past weekend I believe. Tough time to do a renfair when its so hot to dress up.

In the past we have done a couple of outings with DGN people to the RenFair. We usually met up at Farmer Jacks when they used to sell them. Kroger sold them last year and will this year as well. I usually go 2 or 3 times at least during this time. This year might be moreso since I am home most weekends. I do have stuff that I wear and I buy something new every year. I think this year I will be buying boots and a pair of pants. I have a couple of swords so hopefully they will let people bring them again this year, though the website says nay.

You can generally find me either sitting by the main pub or by the jousting field. Stop by and say Hey.

The only one I've ever been to is the one just east of Kalamazoo.  It was a blast.  I've heard the one in Holly is bigger and better by an exponential amount.

Yes it is.

The only people I've seen carrying a sword at the Michigan Ren Faire are the workers. Patrons are allowed too since 2 morons decided to fight over a woman and used their swords to make their points. (pun intended). Altho a friend who works it said that if you have just a handle secured to the scabbard so that there is no true blade and it cannot be removed from your belt, you may be allowed to carry it for effect. Best bet is to contact them thru their website for clarification.
