Anathema
i don't know who was in the area or how far out towards detroit it extended (i live in holly which is about 20 minutes from flint) but the storm that came in...oh damn! the lightening was absolutely incredible! i saw some flashing light from behind my blinds outside and thought it was just a cop that had pulled someone over in front of my apt so i looked and it was this storm that was coming in. we went onto our roof and watched it for awhile. i haven't seen lightening that intense since i lived in florida it was like a strobe light all over the sky. Msterbeau
I was out cold last night... It might have gone north of me, in any case.
HipsterDufus
A couple of weeks ago, we had the "strobe" lightning here in Grand Rapids. It lasted for about 2 hours straight. It was absolutely crazy (and very pretty). Of course, what wasn't so nice is that we lost power for about 12 hours. Then, a week later, we lost power for another 12 hours. =(
BrassFusion
I saw it last night, this ginormous cloud north of me. It was awesome! The storm didn't actually hit us till about 2 hours after that, and I saw some actual lightning instead of just flickering clouds.

kellygrrrrrl
I was walking northbound and had my head in the clouds the whole time.... Almost got hit by a car crossing a side street loking up to the sky......I couldn't take my eyes off of it! :blink Beautiful. It was not since I've lived in Florida that I've seen that kind of lighting show.....Bravo to the lightning master.

The thunder and lightning type. It's been rather eerie and neat to wake up into a huge thunderstorm in the morning. And last night's was certainly welcome, although, it didn't do much for us until it finally filtered southerly down the county. It did give a nice lightning show in the dark distance, though. Clouds sparkling with lambent illumination, silhouetted by internal flashes, carving out of the night.
