hey, now - it's in it's proper place, *the first time*, and not in every forum but... give this person some credit, huh!?

and honestly, i think something like this might be fun, if somebody else would pay for it for me...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

coulda sworn it was in events earlier today, but i guess i was mistaken because it doesn't have a track there.

still... what kind of lamewad joins a forum JUST to promote one event, without intent to use the forum for anything else?

and i heard murder mystery dinners are teh gay. =( i mean, it could be fun in principle, but in practice, with a banquet hall with 100+ people in it... how cool could it be?

I dunno, it sounds like its for a good cause.  I'm not sure I'm interested, but I don't understand why you would slam it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Because the announcement is impersonal and it contains a few instances of shitty grammar. I'd try a little bit harder if I was promoting a literacy group fundraiser.

I dunno, man. I thought this site was about community. It seems you're being more than a bit cliquish. I wonder sometimes who some of you think you are...

Especially those who don't even have a fucking clue about the scene.

Whats wrong with that? Jinx and Chris Rohn use this forum just to promote.

I don't see anyone jumping on them. Why should this new person be any different?

It's in General Advertising ... I see nothing wrong with it.

Jinx will sometimes jump into conversations other than promoting ... especially music related ones ... I've never seen Chris Rohn do that, but his promotions are always in the right spots.

This person posted something in the right spot. While I do see Brassfusion's point of shitty grammar while promoting a literacy event ... I still don't see anything wrong with it being posted.

When did you turn into the big mediator? Or moderator, for that matter. You can talk sweet neutrality and acceptance all you want, but you're contributing to this threadjack as much as I am.

Also, the announcement says that the Detroit Literary Events Group is donating a portion of the ticket sales to a non-profit (Pro Literacy Detroit), not that they ARE non-profit themselves. They may or may not be; the post is poorly worded and ambiguous (ironically). I'm sure they're taking a cut regardless of their status as an organization. I hope they spend it on a computer with spellcheck.

I concede...you win...I don't have time for you.  I'm off to go eat right and work out.  Know anything about that?  :p

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah. That's why I've dropped 4 dress sizes (and counting) since I joined my gym. The trainer who ran the orientation I was in said I have good form.

Working out is fun ;)

Even former moderator's tend to want to keep peace.

I know this because I moderated AOL's Family forums for 5, almost 6 years ... and your realatively new, so you have no idea that Game of Splat used to moderate on DGN.

Nah, it's not worth it. I'll stop here.
