Tecnhical Problems ?

I've seen several posts complaining about various dgn "glitches" what specificly the current problems?

I'll try to get them fixed before the health issues kick my ass again.

I personally noticed that there seemed to be a problem with logging in and then being booted afterwards, either right away or right after trying to post or some such.

That was a problem with , for some reason the cookies were being sent to a different link structure than the board actually uses. I think i've got that problem fixed now.

What other random glitches are happening on the board?

Known Problems:

- Fast Reply Not working (fixed, i think)

- Cant Login (fixed)

- Mark as read not working (fixed, i think)

- Not staying logged in when changing websites or closing the browser (working on it)

- Gallery Thumbnail displaing less than usual thumbnails (fixed)

- AOL users having trouble logging in (?)

- Gallery images displaying random ascii chrs instead of the actual images (?)

It was logging me out when I close my browser but that seems to be fixed today.

Most of the time I can't stay logged in when I make a post.

Fast reply does not function at all for me. (I have to use Add Reply button).

"Mark all forums as read and return to index" does not mark anything as read.

I notice also that all these things started happening when the board started showing up as "http://detroitgothic.ipbhost.com" rather than "http://detroitgothic.net" as it used to.

Hello ...i could not post after the change of servers but with a few peeps help I figiured out i could post on Internet Explorer ...but my main server is AOL and the board will not let me sign in if i am trying to use AOL as the server ....I do not know if anything can be done about that or I might just have to learn to live with it. either way glad to have you back CHIEF

Do you mean using an AOL web browser? Like IE / Foxfire but just aol's version? Didnt even know they still used their own AOL browser. Unfortunately thats probably outside the realm of fixablity since 9999.9% of everyone nowadays uses IE or one of the mozilla browsers. =/

Fast reply seems to work for me now as well as marking all forums as read does seem to mark all forums as read and stay that way for me after repeated logins. (might have been related to the cookies problem i fixed earlier)

I do have the problem of "remember me" not working , looking into that.

OK, I just closed Firefox and opened it back up and I am still logged in.

Off to try it with IE...

OK, works with IE also, but only if you use the http://detroitgothic.ipbhost.com

I notice if you try to go to the site with detroitgothic.net addy it will have you logged out and I wasn't able to log in. Maybe that's why some can't access the board?

Hey... great to see you back Troy.

Another problem...seems to be exclusively Firefox but others may chime in and disprove that. When you click on an image thumbnail to get the full sized version, you get a popup window full of gibberish ascii text instead of the larger image. The current workaround in Firefox is to use an extension called: IE Tab. The problem for me is that that is a PC only extension and I use both PC and a Mac.

If you can find a cure for that it would be much appreciated.

I couldn't use the Quote feature but it appears to be working now. *cartwheels*

Ok i found a problem in the global settings of the board which was causing various problems.

I tested the "cant stay logged in" thing about 5 different ways and it seems to be fixed in all cases.

Im about to declare the problem "fixed". You may have to delete your cookies / offline files for it to work thought as your browser may be storing an old version of the website.

This problem is in relation to the gallery correct? Is this still a problem? I cant seem to duplicate it. Maybe in the course of fixing the other things this got fixed.
