Rocky Horror

All goths hate rocky horror. any of them who say they don't aren't part of the "scene."

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When I was that age I thought I knew what was and was not goth, Oh how wrong I was so I would suggest you ignore that statement.

If you were a teen in the 70's you can understand the importance of it.  I had never even heard of a Transvestite until I saw that movie.  It broke new ground.  But I thought it sucked non the less......sorry everyone, for me it was good for a sort of in your face break new ground sort of way only.

If you where a teen in the 80's also.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the longest running theatrical release in history because of audience participation and video killed it.

RHPC was innovative because it made a mockery of current and previous horror.

Other than Hedwig and the Angry Inch it is the only musical I can sit through.

Go figure, other musicals are to geared to appease women and gay men but I think that these are shining examples of the musical genre.

Merits of RHPC:

  • Thought provoking (If your willing to think and are into all aspects of horror)
  • Infectious or catchy music
  • Excellent cinematography (not a bad angle of cut in the whole thing)
  • The sound ( a lot of people thing that the sound is bad, out of sync over dubbing etc. etc. but the truth is that it was done on porpoise to give that bad horror film flavor)
  • The sets are spectacular
  • IT IS A GUT BUSTER!!!
But truth be told, you are missing out if you don't see it in theaters multiple times and this is why 80's babies and future generations will like it less if at all.

I started fake IDing my way in when I was 15 and someplace near 17 I didn't even have to worry about it considering I was a stand in Rocky. I was a better Rocky then Jason from the waist up and in my ability to mimic every move word and sound but I had and still do have chicken legs.

Rocky Horror you need peace of mind

And I want to tell you that you're doing just fine

You're the product of another time

And feeling down, well that's no crime...

Whatever happened to Saturday night

When you dressed up sharp and you felt alright?

It don't seem the same since cosmic light

Came into my life, I thought I was divine...

I used to go for a ride with a chick who'd go

And listen to the music on the radio

A saxophone was blowin' on a rock & roll show.

You climbed in the back seat, you really had a good time.

Hot patootie, bless my soul, I really love that rock 'n' roll.

My head used to swim from the perfume I smelled

My hands kind of fumbled with her white plastic belt

I'd taste her baby pink lipstick and that's when I'd melt

She'd whisper in my ear tonight she really was mine

Get back in front, put some hair oil on

Buddy Holly was singing his very last song.

With your arms around your girl you'd try to sing along.

It felt pretty good, oh, you really had a good time.

Hot patootie, bless my soul, I really love that rock 'n' roll.

i'd rather keep people guessing! confusion is good for your brain.

edit: and why use smilies with something i'd say under a straight face if it were a real life conversation?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

because online chatting is different than real life. you loose all emotion in typeing, and saying it with a straight face in person is still giving off emotion.

when my face is as close as possible to expressionless... what smiley would fit that? there is no "expressionless" smiley. although it would be awesome if there were just a blank yellow circle... i'd use that, lol.

i'm the same way in real life and i'm not about to abandon my covert sarcasm for the good of the board people

Awww.... I loves you Vater. You know, in the most non-mushy way possible. :wink

I love the rocky horror picture show. It's fucking hilarious. Tim Curry in a corset.... come on, doesn't get much better than that.

I've loved that movie a little to long, I had a room of collectables and I've been a part of a Rocky show for almost a year, so far I've seen it several hundred times this year it seems, and yet I'm not completely worn out on it, but I admit I'm getting there and I've sold much of my collection to the cast to make room for baby stuff. I watched it with my friends rather hot mom dancing the time warp in her purple jammies at a youngish age, I thought she was the greatest mom ever to let us watch it and make it fun like she did
