what do you say to people that dont like what you are wearing and ask you not to wear it? especially when it is someone that you care a lot about? I was asked not to wear my spiked collar and I didnt but only because i respect the person that asked me not to. what do you do in this type of situation?

i wear want when i want (when not in a work situation of course)

to some extent what we wear does make a statment about who we are

and i dont feel i should have to change who i am or what i wear around anybody

even if i do care about them

that is true

Only situations I've been in like that were school and work ... which both were acceptable if you ask me.

Other than that, I've never been in that situation and I don't think I ever will be.

People should respect you for who you are, not who they want you to be.

well, i can see that being an issue sometimes - for example.. my sis is getting married, and wants to make sure i don't dye my hair some funky color, since i'm to be in the wedding party, and i might clash with the bridesmaids' dresses!!  :laughing

You could always get a swatch of the dress fabric and dye your hair a coordinating color.... :whistling

I would wear it anyway unless going to dinner or a church or something really. I figure if you really love me you will execpt my wierd hair or fashion....but would show respect in public. Not at home in a house or park or something where it shouldn't matter.

But, if you really can't feel comfortable because your afraid of upsetting someone you love.....then don't wear it.
