There is something good in EVERY line. From the cheap stuff up, you can find something that you love. It's all a matter of trial and error. I'm a professional makeup artist, so I have some opinions. Here is a partial list:

Vincent Longo Cream Concealer. Hides a multitude of sins. $26

Bare Minerals Foundation. Lightweight and covers well. $25

Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation. Awesome coverage. I use it in the colder months. $50

L'Oreal HIP Bronzer in Golden. Makes a great blush. $13

Urban Decay Primer Potion Shadow Base. Your shadow WILL NOT crease. $14

L'Oreal HIP Shadows. LOADS of pigment! The colors are gorgeous! $10

Wet N Wild Liquid Eyeliner. It has a brush. Not a felt tip. $2.99

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara. Doesn't flake. $9

Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor. Lightweight, no waxy feel. REALLY sticks! $8

I use so many products, it's sick. If you have a question about a particular product, just ask. If I've used it, I'll tell you what I feel about it.

My list will likely not be very useful to you, but here goes... like Brenda I like to mix it up... but I'm a little cheaper than her :grin .

Iman Second to None Cream to Powder Foundation (Earth 3)

Iman Perfect Response Oil Blotting Pressed Powder (Medium Deep)

Iman Moisturizing Lipstick (Digital Berry)

Milani shadows ...intense colors, very decent wear for the price

Milani Mosaic Eyes Cream Eyeshadows... intense metallic colors that actually stay on unlike most cream shadows

Urban Decay Pleather lip pencils (Rubber & Perversion)

Urban Decay Liquid Liner/Liquid Shadow

L'Oreal HIP Bronzer (Radiant)

L'Oreal HIP Bright Shadow Duos... these are AWESOME! Believe the hype! Can't wait to try the rest of the line...

Black Radiance Loose Shimmer Shadow

Savvy Eyelites

Savvy Long Wear Cake Eyeliner ... the best eyeliner of all time, period.

Jordana Shadow Pencils

Black Opal Matte Plus Moisture Lipstick (Ebony Violet)... No one seems to carry this line anymore, if anyone sees this color, grab me a few & I'll reimburse you plus a generous finder's fee!!!

Palladio Rice Paper Blotting Tissues with Rice Powder... these are cool 'cos you can use the powder side or plain side.

The drugstore lines & Savvy are all under $10. Not sure about the retail prices on the Iman & Urban Decay 'cos I only buy 'em on eBay.

Most important step: wash my face with a wet washcloth with NO SOAP, and then apply Mary Kay Formula 1 moisturizer

Then:

Revlon Colorstay foundation - $9-$11

Revlon Colorstay concealer - $2.00 on clearance at Big Lots

Max Factor loose powder - Don't remember, one container lasts me years

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner pencil - $9.00 I think

Maybelline waterproof black mascara in the pink & green tube - About $4.00

Some brown matte eyeshadow I've had so long I don't know what brand it is anymore - used as both contour for cheekbones & eyebrows

If I'm doing day make-up, Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick in some mauvy-tan color, and a dark rose/wine swipe of eyeshadow on my lid.

If I'm doing goth or evening, Cover Girl Outlast Lipstick in a color they don't make anymore (bought 10 tubes of it from an eBay seller) that's dark, bloody red, and eyeshadow on top and under my eyes in red, or sometimes a grey/blue.

Sometimes I go with a pink palatte when I'm feeling "cute" or liquid eyeliner when I feel like something dramatic & punk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
