Hello all. I'm new here, a 20/m near the Detroit area. Well, I feel like most of you probably have at some point while living in MI: that you're incredibly alone in all of your interests and passions. Joining this forum is my attempt to perhaps disprove this for myself and meet some cool people within this cursed mitten.

While I don't go around professing myself a "Goth" and I appreciate people who don't take the whole 'scene' with too much seriousness, above all I love bands like The Cure, Joy Division, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, etc. Music has saved my life on numerous occasions and continues to do so, so naturally I'm rather passionate about it. I love early 90's alt rock (Smashing Pumpkins), melancholy Brit pop (Trembling Blue Stars), shoe-gaze/dream-pop, industrial, as well as a ton of 80's new-wave, post-punk, and synth-pop bands.

Well, I suppose I'll just put that feeler out there. Obviously I'm into more than just music (literature, cinema, green tea, philosophy), but come on, this is a GOTH forum. I would be amiss if I didn't mention Bauhaus at least once.

Best wishes to all. Here's hoping for a warm reception.

Hello to Nosferatu, no particular need to "be" gothic (whatever that means) its more of a "people that dont get offended by the term gothic and find things associated with "gothic" to be interesting.

Welcome to the board. =)

I too like green tea and philosophy. =P

Hopefully we can trick you , er i mean charm you into sticking around and post often.
