Killer_Bunnie
I'm running out of ways to make him calm down about them, he gets them after every meal, no matter how much he burps, and he gets them every time he's upset, I don't know how to help him not get them or help him get rid of them once they start, but he tried being a trouper about it, now they make him wail in frustration all day/night. he's only 6 weeks old and already has one hell of a temper
jadnifer
Did he have hiccups while you were pregnant? My nephew will be six months old in september and while she was pregnant my lil sis said that he would get the hiccups everytime she ate. After he was born, he would get the hiccups after he ate. I could ask her what she did for him if you would like me too. Maybe she could give some good advice.

Gauge
mix about a 1/4 teaspoon of sugar in three or four ounces of water and let him suck it down, quicker is better
Gauge
How in the does a fetus "hiccup?" its actually very common for babies to have them before they are born. its just a reflex
BrassFusion
A reflex to what? What's stimulating their throat besides the ever present amniotic fluid?
Homicidalheathen
I don't know, but I could swear one of my twins had them once inside me, I felt it. Babies get them easy but they grow out of it.
Gauge
A reflex to what? What's stimulating their throat besides the ever present amniotic fluid? sometimes its the stress of the pregnancy that can cause it. its not always about breathing in fact they can start as early as 2 months before they are even able to breath. its just an early developmental thing. Killer_Bunnie
well, he did have them quite a few times before he was born, usually when he was upset about being on a monitor, I dont think it happened after I ate, but then again I may have thought he was just kicking. I'll try the water, I've tried it in formula, but not water yet, thank you I'll try it in a couple hours, when he wakes up and gets them again.
