And the joke was? Having to do with the comic book detective of the same name

Nope. He called me Brenda Starrr because I pull off the rock star look when we get together. He cannot look better than me. It just wouldn't be right. He then proceeded to tell me that if I were a porn star, I could call myself BrendaStarrr69.

A Starrr was born.

Actually I wanted a name that started with Lady so I looked around and saw the gargoyles I had gotten my mother for various holiday gifts (my mother is a gargoyle freak). The line that I got her was the Windstone collection. Thus LadyWindstone was born.

Unfortunately it wasn't until way after that I realized that it sounded like the little old English cat lady in every neighborhood. Oh well. With the way my love life is going I may end up being the little old cat lady. :unhappy:

Actually, my name is a wierd-out variant spelling of the femme version of a surname of a King of Ireland (( if that didnt confuse anybody, I applaud thee )).

The true spelling, I THINK, is F_A_R_E_L_L

But I have that wee issue of dropping pronunciation, so when I pronounced it, it didnt sound like "Farel", it sounded like "Fairl"

Hence the new spelling, FarrIL (( I is almost silent..... oO ))

The first part of my name was given to me in my first year of university, when I had the (probably) annoying habit of wearing my sunglasses all the time. I received the second part as a description of my short little bout, of about 10 years, with severe clinical depression. I was always at least able to laugh at myself, so my friends stuck me with 'Everdark' as a mocking term of endearment.

I started out on DGN, as darkart25 or something like that, some of you may remember that name. But Rivet_HeadINC has beena name I've been throwing around as a Company name for when I start my own Graphics Business.

I got it from one of the quizes that we've done here before "What Kind of Goth are You?" I think it was.

My DGN name is my Crystalian name. I use it most places I'm comfortable with revaling my chosen name and I use it to identify myself on much of my more streetwise, sage works rather than those consumed by unknowns.

I had originally simply just chosen a name which was connected with my namestone, amethyst, but some of my friends in my Clan decided one day to actually go through the books, break it down into its roots and components and come up with its actual meaning. Which turns out to be something like, "She who bears the sorrows of the world."

Normally, I would include my royal title in my handle--Príonnsa--or my Clan name--A'Toll--but nowadays it's just simpler to type "Amerist" and let the rest sort itself out in a signature.

GEM's light shine upon thee.

Hi Amerist

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Everyone can blame Marblez for my appearance. She sent me an e-mail (ok, so I'm the one who flagged it so that it would reappear every time I opened Eudora.) I actually didn't realize that I hadn't posted at all since DGN had moved.

Unfortunately, I do not know the story behind Marblez's name, so I'll have to wait and see on that one.
