Identity thieves in Canada have begun targeting the homes of their victims. Recently, several cases of mortgage and title fraud have involved identity theft; several individuals have had their houses sold without their knowledge. Ontario's land-registry system does not currently protect homeowners from such fraud, but instead favors banks, mortgage companies, and purchasers. The provincial government is however working to solve the problem.

They need to come up with something and quick. These people that are having their houses sold without their knowledge are probably getting nothing for the sale of the home, and are left homeless.

What is going to happen to them? If whoever runs the sale of the home doesnt do anything about it, then obviously a fraud law has to passed to protect the homeowners. Even if it cost a bit more in taxes, I would probably be willing to pay that, considering the fact that I could potentially lose my home without my knowledge.

If they dont have fraud protection against this, then they probably dont have anything set up to take care of and protect the people and families that fall victim to this horrible act.
