As some of you already know, I have never been to CC. I am planning on going as soon as I get my car.

There are a few questions that I want to ask.

I am not exactly "extreme" with my goth attire. Although I want more accessories, at the current time my funds are very limited.

The question is should I be extreme with the attire while attending CC or should I just go the way that I normally dress and dress for comfort. Well, of course I should be comfy, but should I dress "extreme" or dress "down" as some people would call the way that I dress.

Also, I read Troy's post that said that spikes werent allowed. Does this include spiked collars? I wanted to ask before I wore it and save having to go back and put it in my car.

Your input would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

It depends on the bouncer and his mood for the night. I dunno, sometimes they'll let you have small spikes as long as you can't do any damage to someone or something with them. I wouldn't go in there in the summer time with a ton of shit on because they're cheap and don't pay for a/c so you'll sweat your ass off if you go in there wearing 3 layers of clothing. I'd say just wear the collar and if they make you take it off you'll probably get it back at the end of the night if someone else doesn't jack it from the box.

They let my friend in with flip flops on his feet! And he was wearing his 'kiss the blarney stone' tshirt.

Anything other than that is an improvement for sure.

Just wear black, you'll fit right in.....

I see peeps in tshirts and jeans all the time. You don't have too look like you just walked off the Matrix movie set.....but sometimes I like to.

If the goal is to just "not stick out" lets say... Just wear all black and your good. See that crap in my picture? I dress like that pretty much 24/7 including the club (or more casually)

If you want to get gothed up really hardcore do it, its a good place to do it at. If your not up for it, or just dont feel comfortable dressed that way then just hold off.

Theres nothing remotely like a dress code. You will find people that get semi irritated with folk that intentionally "go against" the vibe of the place. Which , despite my usual open mindedness i do support a bit. No point in going to CC for the supposed atmosphere if everyone is wearing a baseball cap and an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt. Its not "real life" its city club.

I'd not risk anything that looks like a spike, just too much of a pain in the ass to worry about having to deal with it.

Really try not to feel to self conscious about what you wear. Part of the .. ahem.. beauty of CC is its sort of "whatever the hell" mentality. Its not a space shuttle launch , its just a club.

I agree with:

All black, or if you're like me & many others, black with red, or black with purple, or black with a modicum of white.

Leave spikes at home. And chains. And cell phones - you cannot bring a cellphone in, you'll have to check it, and you MIGHT get it back. But you can bring a pager.

Try to find something that will allow you not only the comfort of being "in your own skin" but, as advised above, won't be so "mainstream" that you actually become the standout. I know a woman who used to relish going there in gingham checked sundresses & flip-flops for the sheer "fuck you" of it. But she was a certain type of person with an exceptionally thick skin who could get away with it. Best not to "rock the boat" your first time out.

Black jeans/pants/skirts and some kind of black boot/shoe with a simple top, such as a t-shirt, or blouse, or sweater in a dark shade will do you fine.

And yes, it will be hot as fuck, so try to dress for a raised temperature exacerbated by sweaty bodies & cigarettes.

Or you could just do what I did, which was went over to my friends' place, let them get me really drunk, and then let them play goth-Barbie-doll with me.

My friend ended up cutting up two dresses from my other friend's car that she was going to take to the Salvation Army. She made me a make-shift skirt and something like a corset, but we didn't have pins, so she used wire to hold it together. My friend only had a small mirror that shows your head, so I didn't get to see what I looked like until we got to CC and I went to the bathroom. I was shocked, it looked really hot. I got a phone number that night, though knowing what I know now about CC, I guess that's not hard. :wink

Anyway, wear whatever you want. There are usually "tourists" in jeans and flipflops and white shirts there, gawking at the "freaks" anyway, so anything dark and you won't even stand out.

I usually just wear black, sometimes a dress shirt and black pants, sometimes a black T and pants. Start simple and comfortable, see what is being worn then adjust the next time you go.

Oh shit....

I'm not all that goth. I have a rather tiny, gothy outfit to wear this year when I go. But if you just wear all black/black & red/black & purple, you'll be fine.

If it's hot when I go this time, I'm ready. We'll just call it "ventillation." :wink

MMMM Brenda in a tiny goth outfit..........sounds soooo yummy.
