DGN RADIO IS NOW CLOSED:

We regularly come up approximately $20-$25 short every month. Once DGNs overall activity level picks up we may re-visit bringing DGN Radio back online some time in the future.

If you want DGN Radio back online, we need donations specifically for it, from you.

The DGN Radio Project - Online 24/7

dgnradio.php

(currently playing a truncated selection of music for testing reasons)

Thanks for listening to DGN Radio, playing great Gothic, Industrial, EBM, Synthpop and a few surprises, 24 hours a day. The plan is eventually to have a exhaustive collection of key tracks from virtually every significant "scene" artist from the late 70's onward.

The DGN Radio Project:

The DGN Radio project has a goal of of being the most comprehensive "scene" collection of key tracks by all "major" artists online as well as a very wide variety of associated artists and tracks. A bias toward Goth/InIndustrial/Synth music that is fairly accessable to the average listener.

DGN Radio should be free, have no ads, and require no special signup or software.

One of the following should be true of the Artist(s) or Track(s) suggested:

---> Fairly well known Gothic/Industiral/Synth/EBM or closely associated artist.

Especially as we get started may be missing a few "big" artists.

---> Have a fairly distinct Goth theme or sound to them.

This is mostly relevant to tracks from artists that are not traditionally associated with Goth but might have a few particular tracks that fit well here. Anything that "sounds" gothic - whatever that means- is fair game.

Obviously all of the above are judgement calls and are open to much debate. As stated above ALL tracks should be fairly "accessable" to the average listener.

Suggestions of the above nature welcomed and encouraged.

DGN needs donations to keep running.

Hey man what's up with this? I'm sorry, I'm a bit buzzed right now and I'm out of it a little bit, but who do you gotta fuck around here to become a DJ for DGN radio??? I have nothing, and I mean nothing better to do at this point, and I would love nothing better than to have my own window to the world and my own radio station- shit, that would be killer.

Theres no "live DJing" per se its fairly pointless in the age of the internet unless we are going to do live call-in or something. Which i've got no plans for in the immediate future.

I just spent the last 40 hours of my life setting this up. Lot more time consuming than i expected. But anyway.

Don't need much help DJing. Need help getting people on the board, keeping the place friendly, and getting stuff paid for mainly.

Nice work. What about requests?

Sure but since they will go into a 20 hour + rotation ... might be awhile before you hear it. If its by any decent band that's not on the list (or has less than 2 tracks.. which i dont list) it might end up in my "bands to be encoded" list which is pretty long atm.

Awesome work Troy!! The first song playing when I clicked the button is one of my club faves.

Now go to bed.

Oh, this is great! Thanks for putting so much time and love into it, Troy. :)

 Glad you guys like it. 99% of the reason i spent so much time on DGN (and am going to have another full time job keeping DGN Radio updated) is becasue i hope people will enjoy it. Makes me happy. Comments like this are what keep me going.

Very impressive Troy. -But I'm putting you on my ignore list until you have the entire Smiths songbook available for listners. And don't take it personally.

I've actually been demoing a lot of smiths stuff. Probably listened to virtually everything they have. Havn't decided what to put up yet.

I listen to like an hour or two of stuff for every one track that i add. Takes forever.

Once i get about 2 hours worth of tracks i then go through the process of encoding / normalizing / uploading them in a "batch".

Cool, cool. I was just kidding though about adding some of their songs. But I do really like them. I'm not sure if the Smiths have any songs that are exactly goth rock, truly, but checking my iTunes, maybe 'Miserable Lie', 'Cemetry Gates', 'Pretty Girls Make Graves', 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now', 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side', 'Never Had No One Ever', 'I Know It's Over', 'Death At One's Elbow', and 'I Want The One I Can't Have', might be new romanticism inspired titles...and of course, ''Handsome Devil' is about BDSM, which everyone in the goth world really loves. Did I mention I like the Smiths?

say no to morresy. the next step is enya i say ENYA!

then its a life spent in a daze moving from one dumpster to another scavenging for CD's most people have the sense to THROW OUT!

There actually is one unstated Enya track on there. "Only Time"

OMG!! Troy this is awesome! (and i can listen in the background while playing WoW without bogging down my crappy processer!)

haha cool.

*goes off to sift through an insane amount of new stuff to seperate the wheat from the chaff*
