Battle over Badges

The badges, which are identical to the IDs students have always been required to carry and use to check out library books at Poplar Bluff High School, are now required to be worn on campus during school hours.

Personally, I think they're blowing this one out of proportion, especially considering some of the other tactics administrators have taken to using in schools, i.e. metal detectors & police at the doors. What's so wrong about an ID badge? I have to wear one to get into my office every day; how is that different?
