William A. Bassett, 58, was shot in the head with a shotgun Friday during what is often a busy shopping hour in the parking garage of the upscale Towson shopping center. The brazen crime has renewed concerns about security at the mall and also shaken staff and students at the private St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, where Bassett was a science teacher and dean of faculty.

Kennedy and Clark were arrested Sunday and charged Monday in the shooting.

Kennedy told detectives "that he attempted to rob the victim and then he shot him with his shotgun," according to charging documents. Clark said he drove Kennedy to the mall so "that they could rob someone," according to the court documents.

Police said they found a shotgun that they believe was used to kill Bassett hidden in Kennedy's home.

They found this guy shot in the face with a shotgun at 8pm on Friday on level C5 of the TowsonTown Centre parking garage. He never once tried to argue with the kids who killed him or fight back.

Maybe I'm so rattled because this happened so close to me. I know theres been a lot of shit happening around town lately. A lot of violence, and happening to a lot of people I know. I just want everyone to be a little more cautious of where they are. Be safe people. Walk out in groups. Use the "buddy system"...whatever you need to do. Please please please don't walk to your cars alone!

a few weks ago the cops were knocking on my door asking question about if i heard anything..... well the party store (2-3 blocks from my house) owner was shot in the head, by the guys who were trying to rob him. The K-9 followed there scent to the corner of my street and lost it, and well i am the first house on the street. the last i have heard was the shotter was still loose. The party store owner is recovering well.

I totally understand how shaken up this can make you, i used to send my oldest to this party store for milk twice a week, since then my kid has not gotten me milk. I could just feel my heart drop as i thought , what if i had needed milk at that moment. :
