Good to see that the VP and P love freedom so much they want to have it all to themselves....

Jeezus... that is so messed up...

Anc besides if someone were to actually try to attack the VP do you think that he would simply voice another opinon?? This is not safety... this is vindictivness

He touched him without permission. Thats assault. If you disagree with that... go back and change the laws that the liberals pushed for that define it as such.

Actually attacking the VP would get you shot and if you survived.. prison for life.

Dude. WTF? Seriously? WTF? You have to be kidding me.

I guess we have to arrest everyone he shook hands with too...

District Attorney Mark Hurlbert dismissed the charges about a month later because Cheney didn’t want to pursue the charge and the attorney’s office couldn’t prove Howards touched the vice president.

doesnt seem so cut and dried. of the 2 articles, only one says he touched the VP, and that one isnt even certain of it. and apparently neither was cheney or the DA. sounds like an abandoned prosecution tactic to me.

cheney also shot a hunting partner though his own negligence. what laws were changed to allow for that?

You know, every day I see more and more people displaying traits of fascism. Particulary in the far left wing, however, there's a fair share in the right wing as well. That's why I hate politics, politicians, etc. They're all lies and liars. In the end, it's just a bunch of people trying to tell me what to do. And you know what I say to those people? Fuck off and die.

Its really really sad when you are not entitled to your own opinion,or even express it,

(usually results in prison time, since they want the whole population behind bars,IMO

I'm defiantly not a supporter of this kind of abuse of power, but lets try to have some perspective. Armageddon is not at hand if the second most powerful man on the planet squashes some opposition unfairly. Happens every day in every country with much less powerful individuals.

Ok having said that , pretty much its well-known this administration doesn't put up with nay-sayers very well. They aren't liberals after all. Cheney got the boss of the CIA to lie basically , and then quit over the guilt. Crushing some random jackoff? All in a days work. You just don't read about it every day.

Breath on the Vice President Of The United States funny and your asking for trouble. Not i can make TOO strong an argument that it should be otherwise.

Even if its as bad as its spun in the progressive (hardcore anti republican source) article its not bad, not really not in historical perspective. Prior to the radio age this would not even have batted an eye. Heh Abraham Lincoln got in literal >Fistfights:drool

In some countries you don't even have the option of this type of public discussion of such issues. You just get your ass in jail or dead or missing as soon as you utter peep 1. (referring to the media sources)

I'll go live in rwanda for a few years, and if i'm still alive ill be begging to get back into this country. Someone sponsor my work visa please.

I try to look at things from this perspective whenever i start thinking things are "going to hell". We have it so easy in the U.S. that this sort of thing seems horrific. Its not , not by a long shot.

Now, should we try and curb this stuff? Yes.

I agree. I did not want to comment because one of the sources is called 'the progressive' or something. Hopefully that doesn't offend Shade.

To me, I...generally dislike Republicans candidates for all practical purposes, because, for the most part, they do not represent my family values, ironically. But. I've noticed that come election time, it seems like no matter what the republicans are saying, they genuinely believe what they are saying is true, where as the Democrats run from their own image. When it's not election season, of course, the Republicans are busy breaking their own moral guidelines, inadvertently, while the Democrats sit back and make pretty good cynicism about them. It's not always the case, but if anyone has had correspondence with say, Sen Stabenow or attended a John Kerry rally, you'll know what I'm saying about those people. They are kind of spooky. D Kucinich is a wonderful Dem however, and there are a few others...but I just feel like those few are in the DNC to sabotage, because it's like a hobby of theirs or something. All that said, I won't really go to an admitted progressive's news source, nor a conservative's--I tend to go for sources from out of country or sources more universally read. The other source, the "paper" from Colorado is reputable to me. But, I don't need yuppie skiers to tell me that my vice president is a bastard--and the last VP was full of shite as well.

On more respected sources subversive to the current administration, while overwhelmingly fair: Bob Woodward, journalist who broke the Watergate story and Thirty years friend of D Rumsfeld, has a new book. -Much better than just reading a few paragraphs, I believe.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6101201216.html

(I normally hate Rueters because it's more like a news source for people without enough time to read, but being that Woodward is an editor of the Washington Post, of course, it looks like WP extended beyond their own writers in an attempt to be non objective. This was not a "front page" style article and the book in question is a legitimate "news maker", the White House has addressed it, etc. In addition, the Washington Post has a majority conservative readership based on independent and self polling. so, unless someone is in extreme denial, it's difficult to dismiss.)
