Hehe I'd say me, cause everytime I do post a pic, everyone says "so that's what you look like." Lol I guess I'm safe in that no one really knows what I look like.

This could make good on stalking some of you hotties.

This may be true but on the other hand, maybe that hottie you would stalk may want to brag about the hottie stalking him. Can't do that if they don't know what you look like. It's a thought.

I totally don't have a problem who doesn't want to for privacy's sake. But it is nice to put a face with the post.

yeah for a long time i didn't want pics up for privacy/safety. then i finally gave in because troy felt it was important if you were a mod here to have a pic... so i did... then my "husband" saw it and was not too happy ;) so i took it down.... though he has pics up of him all over myspace and THAT is ok. hmmm

I'm going to guess certain people don't have their pictures up (mostly) because they don't want them up and/or feel uncomfortable about it. Outing them probably will just make them more uncomfortable. As such i'd not really want to list people off, even though there are plenty i can think of. =P

If you dont have a picture up beasue you cant get it working? Make a post about it and what the problem is, we'll figure it out.

I personally see no "safety" issue with posting a picture on the internet.

I do like to encourage people to have profile pictures of themselves. Makes things feel more "real" lets say.

I've also read articles that the more personal info there is attached to online profiles the more likely the given community is to have less jerks. The anonymity of the internet is the key reason so many asshats push out their BS in the first place.

Even just having a picture that is you, but would have a snowballs chance in hell of anyone figuring out (blurry, far away, too close etc) seems better than nothing. That might be a happy medium for the people that feel uncomfortable posting a picture. If its just say some really far away shot or really close up or otherwise impossible to tell who it is, but you can tell at least its a real live person.

At a bare minimum ... SOMETHING in the profile picture is helpful when scanning through posts. There are a ton of "built in" pictures that you can choose on DGN if for whatever reason you feel uncomfortable posting a real profile picture. Actually i need to start calling them "Avatars" profile pictures are the things inside your profile.

another reason i don't put up pics of myself is that i don't have any. i hate my picture being taken/take bad pics so you won't see any of me anyways ;) believe me, noones missing out.

Me too. I HATE pictures of me. [And before anybody says anything, I look fine in the mirror. But I do NOT photograph well at all. This isn't me saying I'm ugly, I'm just not photogenic.]

yeah i am not photogenic at all. honestly the last picture i liked of myself was taken about 12 years ago at my friends house. it is nothing great i think it was just a nice angle/black and white/lighting something... i don't know. but i gave it to an ex-boyfriend and when we either broke up or i made him mad- he ripped it up. :p i will run from cameras (unless i am drunk then i don't seem to care unfortunately)
