does anyone here use metro pcs? if so for how long, how do you like it, what phone do you have... complaints? problem with it coming in anywhere/driving? customer service issues?

i don't want to hear about any other phone service but metro pcs thanks

First time i've even heard of it.

Im replying just because i know its frustrating to make a post and seemingly get NO input.

Just since i love you and all i went and read the Metro PCS website a bit and their Wiki entry. Seems interesting.

The sites i used to help me decide what plan/phone (and then i totally ignored and just went out and bought a random phone like a moron impulse buyer lol) i was going to get dont seem to list Metro PCS as an option.

Puts a negative spin on their services but since its not the "detroit" metro PCS im not sure how relevant it is.

well i did go ahead and get the metro pcs anyways (the day i made this post actually )

there are for sure some down sides to it and for me a few great upsides.

i was able to talk for 1 hour or have the phone for 30 days and return it if not satisfied which is why i was asking people if they had it/liked it before i gabbed away on it.

so i gabbed away anyways just to see.

i like my phone. which is probably an important factor in having a service like this.

service wise - there are some spots on 696 that drop my calls but in my house and over all it comes in great. and i can't get service everywhere in michigan. (which they let you know, they show you a map of service areas. they don't have service everywhere yet. they are newish to michigan as of april.)

also i can't use the phone anyhwere BUT michigan (which is ok with me - i don't go anywhere. but for someone who travels for work, this service would not work for you)

the major upside - 45 bucks a month for unlimited day and night minutes, text messages and other services.

Sometimes you just have to say fuck it and pull the trigger. Can analyze a new purchase into the ground sometimes. Hrmm 45 bucks a month for unlimited minutes and text messages? Thats pretty damn good. What are "other services" ? Does it cover all of the metro area? What happens if you do get a call from say california? (i do have a few people that call me say once a month or so from out of state)

you have unlimited local and long distance and anyone can call you from anywhere. you just can't *physically* use the phone outside of michigan. you won't get service.

as of now i believe metro pcc is only in FIVE states total. i could be wrong but i think that is about right. i can use it in every area of michigan *i* go in so it doesn't bother me. if you go on their site they have a coverage map of michigan which shows you were your phone comes in, where it might not always work, where they are building and where they have not done anything yet. it's a broad enough area (for my liking at least) though you can't say use it anywhere up north for example.

by other services i mean call waiting,forwarding, voicemail, etc. i forget all the services but on the site they show you all the features for the 45 dollar a month plan. you can get a lower plan (30 bucks) but it just does not seem worth it. i think they might even have a higher plan? i forget now but if so that doesnt seem worth it either.

i was really all about the 45 dollar unlimited no matter if it is day or night or weekend or whatever.
