On The Subject Of Morale....

Recommended Posts

This story addresses that 4 military newspapers are demanding that Rumsfeld resign...

It would appear that these papers are in the opinion that Rumsfeld has damaged more morale then any discussion from Democrats/Liberal media ever had with the awful way that he (according to these papers) has mishandled the situation.

Well, we may never know. Seems these newspapers are written by Cadets at the various military schools. I thought it odd that someone in the military was doing any kind of trash talk on someone in the chain of command.

I think that he has done more damage and I think getting rid of him will increase morale

I wonder how the majority of folks who are actually in the military feel about him. If he was really that disliked by the troops and I were president, I'd get him out ASAP. Seems like that's a great way to "support" our troops. But I don't really know how those folks feel...

Since when does Bush care about our troops?

I think that he has done more damage and I think getting rid of him will increase morale

Apparently all the assholes that Bush surrounds himself with are providing him more benefit than would the support of the troops or the collective American voice. Actually, since he's already been reelected, I have NO doubt of that.

I've actually seen Army Times stacked up in one of my relatives houses. I was told its "better than Stars & Stripes (which is the actual pan-military paper) as is not the rubber stamp propaganda rag that S&S is.

Its owned & operated by all either ex or currently serving miltiary. These guys all have close ties to active military enlisted and retired especially officers. I think if anyone has a good feel for what "the troops" are thinking, these guys do.

But, its still a for-profit paper so who knows.

I researched it a bit and Army Times (along with the 3 other "times" for each branch of the service) is almost totally bought & read by current or ex military and has virtually no civilian readership. The fact that basically a military-only paper is willing to say , what in some circles could be considered treason, is fairly telling of the mood.

Rumsfeld is a civilian leader, his responsibility is not to "the troops" but to the whole of national defence. (CIA, FBI, SS, FTA, HS and all the rest)

Bush likes him and has said just this week hes staying. If "we" don't there is only one real sure way to get rid of him.

I've seen a few documentaries about Rumsfeld and read the 10 page version of his service history from various sources. He has done some things i don't like that is for sure.

One thing i DON'T fault rumsfeld for is his "brash" style that hes often criticised for. If one guy in the (now fully feminized) country is still allowed to not be a pussy, it should be the friggin secretary of defence.
