The Day

The sun has been up for a few hours

There is a combination of the sound of the gentle wind and the surf in my ears.

The sun kisses my skin with the warmth of the timeless.

My Daughter dances through the surf while the light of day entertains her.

I look to the sky and it is endless.

I look to my daughter, with the infinite amount of affection.

She is so happy.

I am so content.

The air so perfect.

There is nothing behind me, just the dunes....

There is nothing before me, her and the sea....

My life... There is no content in the words.

My past... is no longer part of what I see.

A love for my daughter so strong that all of the stars in all of the sky cannot find the meaning.

Another wave crashes and I hear her laugh.

The thought enters me, of how and why I am able to feel this.

My fingers touch the sand.

She briefly comes from the water to tell me that she loves me and then returns.

The connection so strong.

The wave crashes and the water flows back to the sea.

My heart... My heart?

The truth dawns upon me, my heart no longer beats, it's work is finally done.

I sigh into the breeze at this thought, and the sun continues to be warm.

My daughter continues to laugh

I hear the waves...

My heart rests.

My love for her is unending.
