Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Recommended Posts

I just obtained this massive 13 gigabyte game a couple of days ago. I have to say it's fucking awesome. If you are into flight simulators or video games in general you should check it out. It's the most realistic flight simulator I've ever seen. I have only played a flight simulator a few times in the past and gotten bored with them but this one is so realistic and complex.. I've been playing it all day today and learned more about flying than I would have imagined. The graphics are intense.. Even on my system I can't turn the settings up all the way. I need to get another gig of ram and a newer processor before I can turn the settings up.

It's really cool though. I love flying the Airbus and the Learjets. I've already flown to and from Detroit metro to Chicago midway, from Denver Intl. to Chicago Midway, even my local municipal airport to Detroit and etc.

There's over 24,000 airports to choose from and it even has a feature where it will get real-time, real-world weather including everything from temperatures, barometric pressures, wind, cloud cover and visibility.. And multiplayer, too!

There's quite a few aircrafts to choose from. It would be cooler if it included military aircrafts as well but oh well. I haven't looked but there might be somewhere where you can download additional aircrafts.

But anyway you should check the game out. There is a trial version you can download and if you're determined to you can find a full version, too. But that's piracy, and piracy is wrong. Y'arggh. :whistling

I had 2000 Flight Simulator Professional Edition. I had an 8 GB hard drive at the time. Upon install it left me with less than 1GB free ...

And everytime I'd uninstall it, my ex would re-install it. I'd go to save something on the hard drive and it'd yell at me there was not enough room.

The game was fun though. We had a version of it hooked up in our classroom with the realistic airplane control steering thingamabob in our Air Force JROTC.
